My son is 16 and working a part time job and made under $3000.00, does he have to file a tax return?
Answers: No. But is due a refund if his employer withheld any taxes. If they did he should file. Make sure he does NOT claim himself as a dependent because you will be claiming him.
Another reason to file although not required is, his earning will not be posted to his Social Security unless he files.
Even if you do not have to file a return, you should file one to get a refund of any Federal Income Tax withheld.
Don't forget if you claimed him on your taxes for him to check the correct box on his return.

Will the excise return include $300 for kids?
None of the reports on the current bill that passed include any mention of $300 for kids. I'm wondering whether the new provisions for the disabled and elderly replaced the $300/kid. Does anybody know why the rebate for kids isn't included surrounded by any of the current coverage?Answers: The Senate today ADDED payments for seniors and disabled veterans, but did not remove anything from the House bill. If you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child.
yes 300 per child..i wonder if in that is a limit to children though
