Will SSI recipients receive rebate checks from the stimulus package?
Answers: On the Yahoo news site I found a very recent article about the legislation that was sent to Bush yesterday. The House and the Senate have made their decisions and Bush just has to sign it now.
Here is a quote from the article:
"The legislation would deliver rebates — $600 for individuals, $1,200 for couples — to most taxpayers, plus an additional $300 per child. Individuals making up to $75,000 a year and couples earning up to $150,000 would get the full rebate, with those making more than that or too little to owe taxes getting smaller checks.
People who paid no income taxes but earned at least $3,000 — including through Social Security or veterans' disability benefits — would get a $300 rebate."

Only if you made over $3000 outside of your SSI income.
(that's what I read several days ago, I'd go with oompaloompa_81)
yes they will. SSI Is still an Income . If It's at least $3000, they will get It. Even elderly on SSI have to file taxes. But only seniors on SSI get the rebate. If your disabled I dont think that counts. Also veterans will get the rebate.
No. Only SS retirees that meet the guidelines. Here's a link to the actual bill that details it.

Tax reimbursement date changed AGAIN? Code 1221?
I'v looked around yahoo and the net for an theory of what's going on. Called IRS and they state there are no junk mail sent out and no red flags. I efiled and it was permitted on 1/16. DD of 1/25. Then it changed to Feb 19. This morning it stated it was due to be deposited on 2/8/08, and in a minute when I checked the status it states I should have my repayment w/i 4 weeks, and to call if I don't own it by then. I've see the comments posted that it has something to do w/ capitol gain, but that pertains to "real" property of which I do not have. Nor do I hold any of the five forms that would delay processing. Any clues? Hints?Does this be determined it's in "transit" and it's basically a generic code?
My dependents have not changed, no central income change, no excessive credits and I do NOT itemize. Sooo what could be the issue. Please noone refer to calling the IRS, Have talk to too many reps to count and the answer is other the same. (As stated above, no red flags, no parcels on file one sent out etc.)
Answers: The very same point has happen to me. I wanted to post so that you would know you are not alone. It is impressively frustrating, I know, but I will keep you posted of my status. As of 6am on 2/8 no money.
Update:
Here is the URL for tariff codes, scroll to the bottom
www.irs.gov/irm/part21/ch04s01 (.html is at the end)
Called Santa Barbara and was told that if the IRS have 2/8 for your release/issue date, they will release your money and it has to endorse through the Federal Reserve Bank. It may take 1-3 days for that and later take Santa Barbara 1-3 days to go and get it to your bank, so the hottest February 15, 2008.
NEW UPDATE:
Spoke to IRS this morn - 2/11 and she siad she is showing a direct deposit for 2/8. All of my account info is correct. She said ti bequeath it until Wednesday to show up with Santa Barbara - I am going to bid Santa Barbara this morn.
Don't know, allow 7 weeks from the date you filed. The system is as slow as it requirements to be.
"1221 Refund delayed, [tax return] pulled for review, within 7 cycles conduct sketch analysis."
One possibility, did you double check EVERY form and number that you entered? I've hear of such delays when speak someone accidentally switched some boxes around on their W-2...or there be inconsistencies on SSNs and dependents.
I have matching message and same pattern as yours. I be told by the irs rep. that I should receive it by the 2/15 because my return was human being reviewed. I was inconsistently selected for review and it would be rearrangement by one week. I also checked and had the 8002 code, but when I checked it today it go back to 1221. So, hopefully it will come by 2/15.
Dealing with the tax rebate, how much does the disabled veterans get?
Answers: The Senate added a provision to grant $300 payments to seniors, disabled veterans and veterans' widows who could show $3,000 in Social Security or veterans' disability benefits last year.
None ---nor do the elderly, unemployed,or people on SS get any of it. The house defeated the democratic revisions. The republicans are only willing to give it to the working class with children.
