My ex-wife and I have 2 children. Can we both claim principal of household as long as we keep our stories straight. "She have one child for more than 6 months and I had the other for more than 6 months." It may be a small exaggeration, but nobody know except her and I...

Answers: You can get surrounded by major trouble getting caught lying to the IRS. And sometimes they find out things that you are really surprised that they find out.
As long as you don't live together contained by the same house. It's not something like keeping your stories straight either. It's knowing the rules.

What excise credits can a low-income student cart?

My gf only worked satisfactory last year that she made $350 for the total year, she has gotten extra student loans so that she could settle for rent and vehicle, etc. Besides lifetime learning, hope credit, and interest deduction, is there other ways to capture credits - i.e. for low income, or can her bills be counted somehow towards these ?

Answers: If she's at least age 25, she's probably eligible for an Earned Income Credit (EIC) of $29 - if she's below 25 she can't get that.

With income that low, the credits and deduction you mention won't save her anything. She won't owe any levy, so unless she's eligible for EIC, the only compensation she could get would be anything that be withheld for federal income tax.
i dont know the answer myself, but you can find out on www.taxactonline.com or www.turbotax.com

you dont in truth pay for these services until you profile your return.
mabey you can find what she (or your) is looking for
