401(k) Question?
Right now I am paying 3% ($65) a month out of my check pre charge towards my 401(k). I need some extra brass this year so I'm thinking about not contributing any until subsequent year. My question is, will more charge be taken out of my check if I don't contribute? So much that it wouldn't make a difference surrounded by my pay check?Answers: the govt will steal $15 of the $65. This is a bad conception, especially if your company matches the 3%. 401(k) is the best reserves vehicle in the USA, and its most powerful when your childlike. don't short change yourself for $50 a month.
Sorry, but it is unanimously too late to transfer your 401(k) election for 2008. Most plans require you to net any changes within December of the prior year, though you should as the plan administrator if yours allows changes during the year. A few do.
Your taxable income will rise a bit, though it will be smaller amount than the $65 increase in your monthly take-home discharge. As long as tax rates are smaller number than 100% you'll ALWAYS have more money contained by your check.

My AGI is less than 25k (which includes investment income) and my wife is a stay at home mom. My wife and I are 20 and 22 yrs matured. What type of tax credits, deduction, exemptions should I keep contained by mind? How much should I expect to get from EITC? Can I receive a larger levy return than what I paid contained by? Should we file collectively?
Lastly, from my rental property, my income was something like 6k but I have deduction to write off nearly 5k of that. Do I still qualify for EITC?
