Who, exactly, has a "Fair Tax" system?
Answers: The House Ways and Means Committee. It is HR-25. The Fair Tax Bill of 2007.
This bill places into the hands of every American the power to control how much tax they will pay and when they will pay it. It takes this power away from the politicians! They will lose the means they have to punish their enemys, reward their friends, conduct social engineering and most of all they will not be able to buy VOTES. This is why they will not take HR-25 out of the committee and discuss it.
More people are hearing about the Fair Tax as a result of Mike Huckabee running as a Presidential Candidate. There has been one book written (released 8/05) that explains the Fair Tax in laymans terms. There is another book coming out in two weeks that will itemize the truth about all the questions that have been raised by those that oppose the Fair Tax.
There are many sources that will state the pros and cons of the Fair Tax including other questions on this site. I have included the website for the major source of answers. I therefore am not going to explain all the merits of the Fair Tax.
It's been kicking around for a long time - has now been embraced by Huckabee, but he didn't originate it.
In short, it's a proposal where federal payroll taxes would be abolished, and in its place what amounts to a national sales tax would be collected when you buy anything new - including food, clothes, medicine, cars, houses..
The proponents say that a tax of 23% would be enough to fund the government. Opponents don't agree, and feel the % would be much higher.
Each family would get a "prebate" each month to cover the tax on an amount equal to the poverty level.
This is a real good deal for the rich, since as a group they'd pay a lot less tax than they do currently. For the poor, with the prebate they might come close to breaking even - unless they are currently getting EIC or other benefits that wouldn't exist any more under this plan. The middle class would pretty much get the shaft, especially those with kids who now get child tax credits and maybe EIC.
Fair? Well, that's a matter of opinion.
No one, thank God.
Can I claim airfares on my duty return?
I am currently living on a remote aboriginal community and recently have to charter a plane to go buy shoes, clothes etc..from the nearrest local town as it is unreachable by coup¨¦.We do not have any clothing stores etc on the island , so I be just wondering if it be possible to claim this airfare?Answers: Unfortunately no. This is considered a private trip.
If you have your own business (with a registered Australian Business Number) and the items you bought are required for business (e.g. a uniform) you will be able to claim both the trip and the items as a business expense which are not tax.
You also may like to try letters ordering your clothes or shopping online. Most will deliver to the islands or at most minuscule the nearest mainland town which can then forward on your stuff. This will cut your costs significantly. You can also speak to your friends and family and see if they want to establish at the same time which would drop off or even eliminate confinement costs.

Are they just for private use, not work? Then obviously not. You can only claim a assumption (to offset your income contained by your tax return) for an expense which be incurred in the course of earn your income.
If it's a work related expenses - No, and the law make no allowances for the fact that you're surrounded by a remote location either. Travel expenses incurred surrounded by connection beside purchases of work related clothing (and certain other types of work related purchases) are NOT deductible - as explained within this ATO Interpretative Decision:
http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?ra...
Ordinary clothing isn't tax deductible anyway... and even if the type of clothing you're buying IS export tax deductible you still cannot claim the travel.

Freight and postage costs incurred when making deductible work related purchases, on the other hand, are much more imagined to be tax deductible.

Should at hand be federal withholdings?
my w-2 reports that there is no federal withholdings on in recent times shy of ten thousand dollars. This was from the first charge I had surrounded by '07. My second job I made significantly smaller number but there be five hundred and six dollars for a withholding. These two jobs be not held at the same time.Heres the pick up job 2, the one short withholdings, has me scheduled as single but with exemptions / allowances of 2. When I jam-packed out my tax papers I tabled all question as (0).
I have no dependents live at home, made in the region of 15k,
Answers: it looks like your employer messed up your W4 (the paperwork you jam-packed out to claim 0). Hopefully the taxes withheld from your other jobs compensate for the employment that did not, otherwise you might owe a little bit. No big matter because you received all your money from the excise free...its only just that you pay your hardworking governing body officials for their rugged work.
sounds to me that the place you worked that didn't take taxes didn't do within job,so presently you might end up owing the feed.gov.some money...
