Taxes Questions and Answers

When will 2007 tax statements from Adecco be mailed -- anyone receive theirs yet?

Answers: Good luck, adecco sucks and is never on time. They ALWAYS wait till the last minute. You will not get your W2 till the last possible day... If your one of the lucky ones you will get it on jan 31. If not... you will have to wait. they will give you a lame excuse like it was lost in the mail or they didnt have the correct address, all lies. Dont worry though they do this to everyone, in there eyes we are lower than them. The entire company is about screwing people.
They don't have to mail them til January 31st and as I am finding this year apparently everyone is waiting til then. We need 3 W-2s to do our taxes, 1 for my hubby and 2 for my son, and have seen none yet. (Not from the Co. you asked about, but in general)

My moms income is thru ssi, over $3400/yr, i paid 50%+ of her lvg expenses can i claim her as a dependent?

Answers: yes,you can claim your mom and you could also go head of house hold if not married,if your married than you can claim her as a dependent...
Yes, if the facts are as simple as you stated and none of her social security is taxable. (If she doesn't have additional income, then up to $25,000 in social security is usually tax free).

If she does not live with you, and is not in a care facility, then you would have to cover more than 50% of her living expenses INCLUDING her housing expense. If she owns her own home and lives there, then you may not meet the "greater than 50% support" qualifier.
SSI is never subject to tax so the amount can be over $3,400 and you could still claim your mother. Also, your mother does not have to live with you in order for you to claim her.

In order to claim your mother, you have to provide over half of her support. Support includes housing (fair rental value), medical, food, personal items, etc. If her SSI is more than you spent on your mother, or she owns her own home, it might be difficult to show that you provided over half of her support.

Separated for over 4 years I am paying the mortgage and tax he is still on title. What is the outcome.i?

Answers: I think you need to provide more details. Are you both owners, both on the title? Then I would see a lawyer & either figure out how much he owes you, or see if he is willing to sign a quit-claim to the property. Is he still living there? Are you in the stages of getting a divorce? Do you want the property? Is the question about who owns it?

Good luck!

PS They say the biggest financial mistake women make when getting divorced is hanging on to the house, because it is a continually devaluing asset. But then again, we are the sentimental ones. :)
Thats not fair, so long to get a divorce? The house should go to you in theory, i would contact a lawyer, he would best advise you on the steps and procedures.
