Filing charge return?
I just get married. I came to the US and a fiance visa but we already file for permanent residency and submitted our conjugal contract as well to USCIS. Since I am still a non-immigrant, can my husband allege our marriage so we can win a tax cut even if I dont hold a Social Security number yet?Answers: You really can't directory as married until the SSN is issued. This could take months.
Your husband can any file for an extension or report MFS and amend the tax return then. He would file a tabloid 1040 as MFS and attach a note that he is presently married, but you don't have a number however. He can't take any benefits for you until he can catch you onto the reutrn. Fortunately, you can amend from MFS to MFJ (separate to joint) for 3 years.
