My 17 year old son made for a time more than $3000.00 last year. He requests to file taxes...would it be worth it...would even return with anything back??

Answers: Look at his W-2, is in that anything in box 2? If yes, that's what he'll take back.
I mull over $3,000.00 is the minimum. Not sure.
Well, at least he will get hold of a rebate check.
yes, he needs to wallet Form 1040

might as well gain used to it, not to mention that he may get his own $300 rebate come May or June.
i would own him file. I made $8k second year myself and only get $250 back so i really cant influence how much he will get as it vary person to soul. It is worth filing though.

Tax rebate (USA)?

Hi all in that

Recently there are announcements going on import tax rebtes of $600. What I didn't understand is the "Contributions to IRA and 401(k) retirement accounts and robustness savings accounts would not count toward the income limit". Lets vote I have income $85000 for 2007. I did contribute $12000 to 401(k) for year 2007. Is I am eligible for the rebate as nearby is a cap on these rebate exceeding $75000.

Answers: NO ONE KNOWS THE DETAILS YET - Congress is still discussing this!
Those items aren't part of your AGI, so the IRS is going by AGI.

Alternately, construe of this as your box 1 on your W-2.

Taxes?

If you owe money to federal and state and don't have the money to reward it off right away, do they hold monthly payment plans? Can H&R Block possibly set one up for you? If not... who do you accomplish to set it up.

Answers: The IRS has a road to set up a monthly payment plan for ones federal income taxes. After you complete your taxes and determine what you owe, you can also submit Form 9465 (get one from irs.gov, click forms and pubs) Installment Agreement Request. The IRS will charge interest and a cost on any amount of tax not salaried by the due date (15 Apr), unless you can show good motivation for failing to pay. There is also a $105 excise charged if your request for an installment agmt is approved. This fee can be reduced or waive for hardship. It's also reduced if you agree to automatic deduction from your bank acct respectively month.

Most states have a similar program but the details change by state. Go to your state's tax revenue service website for details.

Pay as much as you can by 15 Apr to shrink your penalties and interest.

Good luck!
Once the return is file and the amount owed is established, you can go to irs.gov and do a return plan over the web for federal.
