2008 tariff rebate?
How will the 2008 tax rebate affect a couple beside two kids? Each spouse files "married filing separately", and respectively claims one child as a dependent.Answers: Assuming that both people compensated taxes, they will each receive $600 apiece, and 300 for respectively child. In total, your rebate would be $1800.
How much will I get back? I'm head of hosehold and have 4 dependants.?
Answers: If you're asking about your Income Tax REFUND, then this is impossible to know without first knowing what your income was in 2007, how much your employer withheld for 2007, whether or not you participated in any programs or activities which would adjust your gross income, provide a credit, incur a penalty or anything else. This is why you must prepare a tax return. The tax return will tell you whether or not you have paid in too little or too much throughout the year. If you have paid in too little, then you will owe the government extra money. If you have paid in too much, then the government will issue a refund.
If you're talking about the proposed REBATE that congress is currently considering, then under the current picture, assuming that you had a tax liability in 2007, you would receive $1800. If you paid social security taxes but had no income tax liability in 2007, you'd receive $300.
We have no idea. Why don't you file your taxes and actually see.
If you are asking about the "stimulus" we don't know that either.
Wow, is that great being Head of Hosehold and having 4 dependants!?!
If you mean instead that you're Head of Household and have 4 dependents, WHO KNOWS?
You didn't provide enough information. Depends on income, withholding, tax brackets, credits, etc. Go to irs.gov and plug in your info at free efile and figure it out.
it depends on how much money you paid in taxes...typically you should receive about $2,000 with just the info you provided.
Question in the region of dependants for toll file...?
I am 24 and work full time. I have a 21 year old-fashioned live-in girlfriend of 3.5 years who is a full time student and hasn't worked in 2007. Her parents don't claim her as a dependent. At the establishment of the year, I claimed "1" on taxes for 2007. Can I claim her as my dependent and change my file status to "2"?I'll update this post with more info if needed. Just ask.
Thank you.
Answers: There are 4 conditions that you want to satisfy for you to claim her as a dependent relative.
1) She must not own made over $3,400 last year.
2) she must enjoy lived with you the entire year.
3) No one else can claim her as a dependent
4) You provided more than 50% of her support.
If these 4 conditions are met, you can claim her as a dependent. Good luck.
You will directory as single. You are not married and you do not qualify for head of household.
You may qualify to claim your girlfriend as a "qualify relative" (provided that you can show that you profide more than half of her total support). This get you a $3400 exemption for her. It does not get you HOH or EIC. It would qualify you for background credits.
The question probably hinge on how she pays her tuition. If you pay it, it counts a support you provide. If she have loans to pay it, it counts a support she provides to herself.
I am not really sure but, you can step on line to H n R and address with a consultant. or newly call them.
