Can I claim my wife as a dependent she is only 17 and I am 48?
Answers: When you file married filing jointly you can claim her exemption as your spouse. (It works out to the same $3400, but she's technically not your dependent.)
Note, if you just got married and she lived with her parents all year, if you filed MFS, they could possibly still claim her as a dependent on their return.
lmao.....
Do you have a full set of teeth?
Can i claim my mom if she stay with me for less than 6mths.even she's just a tourist from canada?
Answers: Your mother is somewhat unique.
She's a resident of Canada (so she meets the residency test)and as your mother she doesn't have to live with you.
Her gross income must still be less than $3400 USD and you still must be able to prove that you provided more than half of her total support for the entire year. If you merely paid the bills when she was visiting you, that isn't enough. You must also have paid more than half of her bills back in Canada for the ENTIRE year.
No, only if your mother was dependent upon you for support. Also she would have to have been living under your roof for at least 6 months of the calendar year.
Will the spanking new stimulus plan rebate partially to be repaid contained by file 2008 taxes file surrounded by 2009?
If my rebate this summer is $1500 and my tax repayment filed contained by 2009 is $2900 as of now. will my import tax return only be $1400 or will it still be $2900.Answers: No it will not. And even if it be taxable income, then it would lower your return by that amount, it would increase your imcome by that amount, nothing more.
You hold a correct answer from a CPA ... but I thought i would say NO also :)
