Post edit- To the guy who said $375 was expensive. He charges that for the hour I shift in and does adjectives the other work as part of the hour, so probably I should have said $375 for the in one piece process. I live in NY, amazingly expensive, perhaps CPA's are smaller amount elsewhere and I have see considerable return increases in the years near my guy so I am happy. You get hold of what you pay for, I simply wanted this soul to realize going cheap up front can cost you big bucks in the pause. Also, just plugging numbers within based on days gone by return can lead to trouble if codes cash etc. An audit can be a nightmare in frequent ways.

Same thing here - mine was accepted on 1/23 and they said my refund would be deposited to SBBT on feb 1st - I called when the bank did not have my funds and the IRS said they had reversed it - I didnt even know that could happen so now I am being told there is a delay for further review
and I now have code 1121-First I was told I was sent a letter then I was told a letter would be sent next week - I get a different story each time and nothing is out of the ordinary from last year- I was told several people are getting reviewed and its random from the computer but they cant tell me anything else or why which I also dont understand because if they truly wanted to resolve any questionable items they would only have to ask you right? so why all the secrecy !
I'm in the same boat as you. There is a huge delay in processing returns. The IRS is backed up. Some returns go through with no problem others get delayed. I have a contact at the IRS and he says they are very under staffed and the last minute tax changes by our wonderful fast acting congress didn't help matters since the computers were down for several days going through updates. Since the systems were down, some returns were kicked out of the system and they now have to be re-entered by hand. You can imagine how long this will take considering they have millions of returns to process and only a few hundred people working on them. At this point, we are at the mercy of the IRS.
