Tax rebate for those on social collateral?
Now that the tax rebate have been approved does anyone know if those who receive social shelter old age or disability but do not wallet an income tax return will get hold of a rebate? I heard that near was have a chat of this but do not see this mentioned in the info I enjoy read today.It looks like those who directory jointly will attain the full refund for married even if merely one had income. Do others read it that style also?

And yes, on a common return, if the return meets is eligible, you gain the rebate for both people. Rebate will be $300 per entity, or $600 on a joint return, if your merely income is social security.

The letter will ask if you agree with the additional tax, disagree with part of the additional tax, or disagree altogether. If it were me, I'd wait for the letter to arrive. If you discover other errors, then you would probably want to file the 1040X.

Bostionia is usually right...but, in this case if it doesn't make any difference in your tax then you don't have to do anything. The tax table is set up in brackets $18 might not be enough to change the tax liability.
And, even though the computer will match income you failed to report...if it doesn't change the tax liability...there is no harm and no foul. You shouldn't even get a letter.
However, if it does change the amount of tax due then he is right. If you can file a 1040X without paying someone to do it, then I would. If you can't it will cost you more than any fines.
And, I highly doubt that they would apply the withholding rules for $18 (I have never seen it done).

Unemployment Insurance surrounded by California?
I currently receive unemployment insurance. On the check stub it states that my claim expires on 07/2008, although the be a foil for noted on there is smaller amount than what I usually receive. I believe its because the 6 month period have ended. My question is, can I reopen up the claim? Am I still eligible to receive my unemployment insurance until my claim have expired which is 07/2008? I was told that you can claim job loss insurance for a year, so I don't understand why I lone received it for 6 months. I was near my previous employer for 7 years, so it's not like I worked somewhere for a short period of time. And I am actively seeking a employment, although I have a few expectations so I haven't standard any offers plus I'm a single mother and I hold to work around my parent's schedule end in its way too expensive to depart my daughter at a decent daycare that I can trust. Sometimes when the overall severance rate is very dignified, that time is extended, but most of the time, including now, it's 6 months. If you have found a job during that time so your benefits stopped but after lost it, you would be able to reopen your artistic claim and receive benefits until 07/2008 or until you received 26 weeks of benefits, whichever comes first.
