I worked last year, but for most of the year I claimed exempt will I still get a rebate check?

I have not recieved a 1099 from an employer who I believe has gone out of business, what do I do?
Answers: If you were employed, you should be getting a W-2, not a 1099-Misc.
If you were actually a contractor, you don't use the 1099-Misc to file. You report the income from YOUR records.
1099's don't have to be in the mail until Jan 31. They would still have to send them out - if you don't get one, don't worry about it

I have be using Tax Cut from HR Block for a few years now. The fees character of suck. TurboTax also imply the same piece. However, in both cases you can use the service for free if you start from the IRS website and follow the links to the Free Tax Services providers. Note that they will adjectives make a pitch to proffer additional services for a levy.
The tax service providers are supposedly using a safe and sound site. I have used TurboTax beside no prolems yet.
TaxAct SUX! They charged me double for using their online site to efile my taxes and you can't catch a straight answer out of their customer service reps. They all impart me the "run-around". I personally will NEVER use that site again. Their customer service reps. don't seem to be to know how their site works. They are NOT helpful at adjectives. Don't look for any help if you hold problems with your return or reimbursement because they are all LOST! All I can say aloud for you if you do, GOOD LUCK!!
