Taxes Questions and Answers

Is the up to date toll rebate base on total gross income or Taxable income?

In the new Tax rebate explicitly proposed, I read that it is for individuals that make lower than $75,000 and less than $150,000 per couple. my question are if the wife makes $90,000 and the husband make $20,000 then would they lone qualify for the husband's share of the $600? Also, if they have write-ofs (like property duty and mortgage interest) and the taxable income was after only $70,000 for the wife would she qualify for the full reimbursement?

Answers: No way to vote since it is NOT law all the same. The House has not however finished action on it. Then the Senate have to work their version. Then any differences involve to be worked out. Then both houses have to overrun the SAME bill. THEN it goes to the White House for the President's signature.

Until it's in fact signed into LAW there is NO WAY to answer any question. Anything that anyone says is PURE speculation.
The rebate is base upon your taxable income before deduction.

I didn't work all year and have 3 kids will I still get Bush's rebate?

Answers: NO! The rebate plan says that you have to have made at least $3000 in income in order to qualify for the rebate. Sorry!
Congress is still determining the rules, so nothing is cut in concrete. But by the latest proposal, if you didn't have at least $3000 in income for 2007, you don't get anything from the rebate.

When's the day we need to file taxes?

Answers: Well, you can turn them in today if you would like but I think you are asking when the deadline is... Deadline to file individual tax returns (Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) or to request an Automatic Extension (Form 4868) is April 15th, make sure it is postmarked by 11:59 PM that night.
You need to have your return filed, or postmarked by April 15th.
