Why do Americans?
post questions more or less USA taxes in the United Kingdom screened-off area ?Are they really that dumb that they don't know where they live ?
Answers: I log on to YA at yahoo.com/business/taxes/UK because I don't traffic with US duty. But still 40% of the questions are US enquiries.
I guess they're simply stupid.
Maybe they just aren't paying close adequate attention. Why are people contained by the UK so preoccupied with Americans?
Phil -
Obviously the world does revolve around us. Did you see what happen to the world markets newly on the "fear" of a possible US recession? By the way, the world stopped revolving around the "British empire" centuries ago.
OK genius, I asked a question roughly speaking the tax rebate, and among the offered category UK taxes was the first on the document. That is why. Blame Yahoo (the American company).
I don't think Americans are dumb satisfactory to not know the name of thier own country (can anyone seriously be that unacquainted??), but maybe they simply misread the title of the section? Or want the warning of British? I don't really know, but those are the only logical answers I can come up with of.

What is this bright Tax Refund they are putting through?
I'm a single mom claiming head of house hold beside 2 children.. will I be getting this refund? About how much? When?Answers: Checks will be mail in June, and you would take $1200 ($600 as an individual earner plus $300 per child), provided you earned between $3K and $75K during 2007.
Individuals who repay income taxes would get up to $600, working couples
$1,200 and those near children an additional $300 per child lower than the
agreement. Workers who make at least possible $3,000 but don’t pay taxes would attain
$300 rebates.
The first rebate payments could start going out in May, and most relations
could have them by July, though the IRS will already be overwhelmed
processing 2007 tariff returns. The rebates be expected to cost about $100
billion, and the collection also includes close to $50 billion in business
levy cuts.
