Taxes Questions and Answers

Does anyone know the website that u can go 2 to see your w-2 before u actually get it?

Answers: depends on what your company uses...mine uses adp...the site is ipay.adp.com...w2 was on there on the 15th...hasnt been mailed yet...so i got lucky...
There is no public site where you can get that. Some employers make them available to their employees; your supervisor at work can tell you if they do and how to get it if they do.

How can I tell if the I.R.S. is going to hold my refund before I file my income taxes.?

Answers: if YES to any of the following:

do you owe back child support?

do you have outstanding student loans?

do you have outstanding debt with a creditor?
Hi there, you can maybe call and ask them to check to see if you owe back taxes. If you do they will most likely capture it and apply it to the outstanding debt to them. Now if you owe for student loans, child support or another gov. agency they may not be able to tell you until you actually file. Then they will let you know that it has been offset or taken and applied to what you owe. I hope this helps. But the only way to know for sure is to try and call. Good luck.

P.S. the poster above said if you owe a creditor...that is not true it can only be a gov. related debt for the IRS to take it. Now if a creditor has a judgement than can attach your bank account but that has nothing to do with getting your refund from the IRS.
You can try calling this number. It tells rather your tax will be offset or not. Treasury Offset Program Call Center
(800) 304-3107.
Well It depends what State you Live in.. For example if you live in TX creditors cant hold ur refund... You can call 1-8OO-304-3107.. It is a number to the part of IRS that tells you what they will hold if anything..

What exactly does the unmarked excise law/bill anticipate, for me?

I filed my taxes yesterday (1/24/08). I did the e-file through H&R Block (they prepared it), and it's set up for direct deposit within about 8 to 15 days according to them. Today, someone told me that they passed some character of bill/law regarding rebate that people could be getting wager on.

I'm an individual tax payer (not married), and I'm not a homeowner. I am also 25, if that matter at all. I've hear that it apparently affects people making smaller amount than $75,000 a year, and as an individual taxpayer, they can get a due rebate of up to $600. I read a news article going on for it, but the article was written within a confusing way, so I'm only looking for some verification from others that this is correct.

The communication article that I read stated that the "tax rebate matter could mean checks by May." May is perceptibly a good length of time away from in a minute. I've already filed my taxes, and it seem logical to me that most everybody else will have file their taxes before May, as powerfully. So, how will this affect

Answers: If this passes, you don't call for to do anything. The check will come to you in the messages and if memory serves from past rebate, a check will come to your mailing address even if you typically have export tax refunds direct deposited.

It seem with the details you own provided, you should get a $300 check.
