Claiming your child on income taxes?
Okay, I am the custodial parent my daughter. I didn't work last year, I stir to college full time, take out loans to acquire by on and sold a few things on ebay. Question is...How much money do I have to produce to claim my child on taxes?(oh, and FYI, she lives with me full time and see her father every other weekend, if that's important)
Answers: As the custodial parent (the child must have lived next to you for more than half the year), if she's underneath 19 years or under 24 years and a full-time student, and so long as she did not pay packet more than half her own support, you take to claim your daughter on your taxes no matter how much you made within '07. Even if you made little income (if gross income was beneath $11,250 and filing director of household you're not required to file) you will likely want to folder (1) to recover any taxes withheld by the Federal and/or state authorities, (2) to wallet for the earned income tariff credit, if eligible, and (3) to claim the additional child due credit.
You may be in a situation where on earth every bit of additional earn income (ebay sales might be self-employment depending on the circumstances), net you a bigger refund and more credits.
Good luck.
sounds to me resembling you had no income
did you enjoy any earnings?
if you dont file near for wouldnt claim your child either
You solitary file if you have income (earnings, interest, alimony, etc.) If you do file, you claim your child because you provided full support -- it does not depend on how much you earn. If her father is claiming her. consequently you can't... Whomever provides support for her should claim her.
Question give or take a few taxes.?
Which tax would you want difficult if you were surrounded by thea) lower class
b) middle class
c) upper class.
Sales tax or property export tax?
thanks for any information or feelings.
Answers: None, regardless of what class I am in I will purchasing property and of late random purchases and so I would close to to not have a high tax for any item. The only entity I think that should be tax more that isn't is Government assistance checks. I know that it's already been tax as it came out of my and other workers income, but I feel those receiving a check from the affairs of state regardless of the amount should have to rate taxes just as everyone else.
Do I qualify for the import tax rebate if I hold no payroll income?
In 2007, I did not work. I did, however, convert my traditional IRA to a Roth in December of 07, so will own to pay taxes on around $40,000. No taxes be withheld, so I was planning on paying several thousand dollars surrounded by federal income tax. Does the $800 rebate mingy that my taxes owed will be reduced by $800? Thanks.Answers: If you read up it is $600 for qualifying individuals, and $1200 for family.
If you did not work in '07, and in consequence will not be filing any "income tax", I doubt you will see any rebate check.
Heck, you have $40,000 in your IRA, you don't have need of anymore money.
I am surprised that taxes were not withheld, as most of our payroll deduction for say a Health Savings Account, which have it own limits on contributions and spending, are deduct "pre-tax" on our gross income.
