im 18 and working full time im not in shool and my mother requirements to file me as her dependent i made over 8500 final year because i was working part of the pack time then i changed to fulltime within the end of the year ...my mothers owes alot of money to the irs if she files me as a dependent do i hold to file too ? would that affect me individual her dependent ? do i file for myself while she files me as her dependent ? how would any of this affect me surrounded by the long run ..this is my first year doing this whole levy thingAnswers: if you werent surrounded by school she cannot claim you as a dependent unless she can prove she provided over 1/2 your support.. because of your income rank you must file your own return as economically but if she claims you then you cannot claim your personal exemption amount. you will hold to declare that you can be claimed on anothers return as a dependent
I don't read - if your mom claims you as a dependant, why would she owe money to the IRS? Typically, you claim dependants for the deductions.
Either route though, you need to wallet your taxes. You most likely can bring back away with a 1040-EZ. One of the question on that is 'can someone claim you as a dependant contained by 2007?' to which you would reply yes/no depending upon what mum does.
IF you were a fulltime student concluding year for at east 5 months, Mom can claim you. Did you live at home or at school--OK. If Mom claims you, you still have to folder because you made more than $5300. You won't get much support, if anything. Be a good son--but it's her closing chance to directory you unless you get yourself into university.

Can a 16 year out-of-date database a rates return for federal taxes withheld from their opportunity and...?
The parent claim them as a dependent because they provided more than 50% of support to them?Answers: yes, you just cannot claim your personal exemption amount.
FYI if you made smaller amount then 8000 you are not required to report a return
Use the 1040EZ form to file a return surrounded by order to receive a refund of federal withheld taxes. You would report as Single, zero exemptions - the parents claim the 16 year out-of-date as an exemption on their tax return.
