Do I have to pay taxes on ss that is less than 20,000 per year, also I earned 4,000?

Answers: Generally, if Social Security is your only income, your benefits are not taxable, and you probably do not need to file a federal income tax return.

From the Internal Revenue Service's standpoint, Social Security benefits include monthly survivor and disability benefits, but not supplemental security income payments, which are not taxable.

If you didn't exceed $25,000 filing single, or $32,000 filing married, then you won't owe any income tax on your social security.

Answers: Yes, form 1040X

You can go fund 3 years so you have until April 15th 2008 to adjustment 2004 tax returns. You can also, if you construe it will help turn over years 2005 and 2006.
If you left something stale that would help you, or made a mistake on your return second year, then you can database an amended 2006 return on a form 1040X and correct it.

This is totally separate from your 2007 return.
