I own a excise cross-examine?

I am separated from my wife and we have two children together. She have custody of them and I pay $640.00 a month on their support. How much of that $1200.00 can I carry back if she is the custodial parent, or will I receive anything back for the unsullied economical benefit that Congress just agreed upon?

Answers: I'm not sure what the $1200 quotation is to...unless you're talking nearly the stimulus package still self worked out in D.C. I've not read anything but that specifically deals next to separated taxpayers. However, IF payment is made available to one's dependents the custodial parent (your wife) will probable prevail.
As for the current tax law, if you two are separated but still lawfully married as of 31 Dec 07, you own a few of options when it comes to this season's due reporting. If she'll agree to do so, you can still use the married filing reciprocated status which gives the lowest important tax bill (largest refund) contained by most cases. Perhaps not, however, if your income and hers are very similar. You can work the $ information and show her the savings and even agree within advance as to how to divide the compensation. If she's not interested in doing that, you will be using the much smaller quantity favorable (again, in most cases) married file separate status. She'll be in the better position of file as head of household (if you two lived apart for 6+ months contained by the last element of '07)...better than you, but not quite as virtuous as married filing united.
If she files alone, as the custodial parent your spouse is entitled to claim the children as her dependents unless (1) there's a court-ordered written separation agmt that gives you a right to one or both children for due purposes, or (2) she voluntarily waives the right to use one or both contained by writing with a Form 8332 or similar stmt.
So leeway #3, if she won't file in concert with you and divide the settlement, one might ask if she'd waive one of the two children so each of you could procure head of household status and one dependency exemption. If she elect to do so, your spouse can waive the right to the child(ren) for one year, any specific length of time, or for all adjectives years. At the time of divorce, if that happens down the road, the pass judgment may rule differently but typically approves voluntary agmts reached by the party.
Good luck to you all!
$1,200?? What is that?

If your $640 per month represents more than 50 percent of the support for the children, you can claim them as dependents. How much you achieve back or hold to pay depends on several other aspects of your tax return.

Congress have not agreed to an economic benefit, but they are working on it. It will not affect your 2007 excise. If a benefit package become law, you may see some money after the middle of the year. No one know yet who will capture money.
If she is the custodian parent you will not be allowed to claim them as dependents, unless she allows you to.

As far as the child support payment, you will not be allowed any assumption and would not be able to return with anything back

Can i do multiple states taxes using Turbo Tax??

Answers: Yes, but you will have to buy the extra state modules. You can download them through your turbo tax software. I had to file a Idaho, CA, and Louisiana state return for myself last year. I think it was an extra $9.99 per state.

Will I owe money?

I had 2 job last year. Both unpaid. My one took taxes out and the other was a privete duty living where I made going on for 5100.00 for the year. My other job I made 6500.00. I enjoy 2 children so i recieve an EIC plus a full-time colleg student. How will not paying taxes at my one job effect me?

Answers: Your income is low and as long is it's the simply money being claimed on your taxes (no spouse etc.) you will bring back everything you paid within plus some.
I think you're ok. You'll be fine. You didn't get much for the IRS to worry give or take a few.

Do you have a college coaching?

If not, you should get one.

Did you bring 2 W-2s or 1 W-2 and 1 1099-Misc?

Since you appear to get EIC, you may not owe anything, but your return will seem smaller to you.
