Impending divorce & income taxes?
My divorce will be finalized within the subsequent two weeks, and I was wondering how I should be doing my taxes? We don't hold any real assets. Two children. Separated contained by November. I have primary custody. There aren't seriously of deductions, aside from childcare.
Should we folder jointly while we're still married, or separately after the divorce is final? If we database separately, who would have the kids?
Answers: in concert - but, put it in writing- within the divorce papers - that you will file as one on your 2007 tax form, and splitting the return 50/50. If you guys owe respectively other any money - now would also be the time to put contained by there - so and so will first compensate me XXX amount of dollars, and the rest of the tax return will be given to him. and if it is given contained by cash by EITHER Of you - hold it signed by the other party- proving he got his share.
in concert if you are sure that both parties agree to the split of any compensation or you will play heck trying to cash the check, for the proceeding years your divorce rule should address who get what write rotten or to claim the kids as a deduction, if it doesnt tell with your legal representative as it should be addressed contained by the final decree.
Tax writeoff's on a home?
I am about to purchase a home beside my gf, soon to be fiance. The loan and the home are going to be in her christen for purposes of the type of loan we want to get. Being toll time I'm now thinking going on for the tax benefits of owning a home. Can somebody inform me what writeoffs come with owning a home, and if near is a way for both of us to claim those writeoff's or split them?
Thanks!
Answers: Unless your credit is really that lousy (someone is waiting for you to own property so they can slap a lien on it etc...)get the mortgage surrounded by both names. Since you are NOT married see an Atty who can support you BOTH on the ramifications of purchasing property next to someone you have no permitted relationship with (that does not simply mean marriage) and enjoy a legal document drawn up as to what happen to the house should one of you decide this PENDING wedding ceremony is not for you.
YOu are not the only one,I own ever met the similiar problem before.I own good experience here though.http://loan.goodhelper.info/bad-credit-u...

Me and my Fiance are torn between who should claim the little baby. I made around 10,000 dollars and he made around 30,000 dollars. I am also a college student. Can anyone sustain me with this. Which one of us is better sour claiming him??Answers: He is, he is in a high tax bracket and will benefit more. tba
I would suppose you would be better off claiming the newborn because of the earned income rates credit but only if you can claim this.
