Isn't 1040X for Federal Correction and 540X for State Correction?

I am so confuse right very soon with adjectives these forms.
All I've been reading on here is that if you made an error you can database a amend 1040X, does that mean when you report this form to the Federal return to correct it, the State gets it also or do state necessitate a different form too?
My situation, Receive second w-2 from other employer, but already file the first position w-2. So Now, I have to add on the second job W-2 next to the return I already file.
Another ask is... does all amend forms involve to be mail contained by only?

Answers: I assume you are contained by California. If thats the case, you folder a 1040X to amend a federal return, and 540X to amend your state return.

Amended forms can be e-filed as well.
You call for to amend both fed and state. State take their numbers from your federal. State must be filed inwardly 30days of federal (federal will report to state). They must be mailed.

We input rates information from our (2007) W-2 incorrectly.?

When double checking over our taxes that I ALREADY filed I notice that we inputed one (of our 5) W-2 numbers incorrectly. I inputed the wrong box under "state income taxes withheld".making a -$2,000 error. I already file an amendment and sent in a check. Should I be worried that this is going to red flag us? We don't brand a ton of money, don't have heaps deductions, and I don't ruminate we've made any other errors in olden times. Just wondering if anyone else has done this?

Answers: You are too small a fish. Don't loose any sleep. IRS agents requirement big bucks to make it worth the time. They want to find errors and fraud. I think a most important package holder had to clear a fine and restate earnings a couple years stern for over stating the number of employees. You are below the radar.
It's a adjectives error, and minor at that. I wouldn't worry roughly speaking being 'red flagged.' When that sort of mistake is made, the simply issue tends to be that your return tend to take much much longer. However, anyone that you had to write them a check.

No biggie.
In ornament to your state taxes, did you itemize the state income taxes withheld on the federal return? If yes, you need to amend the federal return as economically.

January 30-31st File'rs.come here!?

I am Miss. Patient. I am getting a great deal of $$ final this year and for the first time in years am not within need of it. So I profile 1/30, it's accepted on 1/30.have an original date of 2/8 as a compensation date (according to Santa Barbara Bank & the IRS schedule) and then get an email on 2/6 from Santa Barbara that they didn't get it as expected (yadda yadda) and the Where's My Refund have always shown 2/19. Fine.

My aunt file on 2/1 and get hers pay for! Which sent me into OCD frenzy! LOL. We both have mortgage interest.

I've a short time ago become obsessed wondering if i'm the one and only 1/30 filer to not get a discount this year, lol.

ETA: I have to offset or dependents. I know I should chill. Pass the vino.

Answers: you should get it friday. what happen is the IRS had so lots returns to process and refunds to return with out that they had to steal some refunds that be scheduled for 2/8 and move them put a bet on a little subsequent to 2/15. otherwise the system could overload and crash...which would mean BIG rescheduling. So expect to see it friday.
I'm in the SAME boat. Right in a minute I'm expected to get my reimbursement BY February 19th. I am hoping I get it sooner though. I file on the 30th of January as well but never have an earlier date than the 19th.
