Taxes Questions and Answers

Owe the IRS?

I have never file taxes before because I've be a college student & a dependent, but I have held a waitress undertaking a little over 4 years where on earth I only made $3,000 a year because I brand the majority of my money in tips. I am 24 very soon & I graduated from college end month so this year is my first year filing for 2007. I am clueless almost filing taxes & I am wondering if I will owe the IRS? Also, how do I answer this....

Enter your estimated due payments and amount applied from your tax year 2006 return:

Answers: Try Turbotax. It is a free tariff calculation/filing program. Probably enter 0 for the 2006 question if you didn't report previously.
You just asked that give somebody the third degree about the estimated payments, and be answered.

By the way, you probably owe money for prior to 2007. If you made 'only' $3000, plus tips (which are also taxable!), you should own filed import tax returns for each year.

I'd in general suggest TurboTax or Quicktax, but you need to speak to a duty professional about you prior years. You're at risk of some hefty fines.
The IRS will require some amount of tips as income.
IDK the percentage.

It does not appear that you made plenty to owe taxes.

For 2006, "Not Applicable". This is asking for any overpayments in 2006 that are applied to 2007. None.
If you've never file taxes before, the answer to that cross-question is "zero."

Try TaxAct (http://www.taxact.com), for free federal export tax return preparation online.

Confused something like the rebate and dependents?

If I had a child surrounded by 2007, will i get the $300 rebate for that child, or is it base off of 2006? thanx

Answers: I initially thought it would be base on 2007, but then I found as article stating the dependent check is base on your 2006 filing.. so I am not fairly sure. Hopefully not because I also had a infant in 2007. Here is the article:

Best of Luck.
It will be base on your 2007 tax file, so if you claimed the newborn as a dependant for 2007, then adjectives you need to do is spawn sure you file a return for 2007. If you do not profile a return, then you will not bring the rebate.

Below is access to a news article of Q&A on the subject of the rebates.
It's originally base on your 2007 return... You won't get the rebate until you database your 2007 return... You will get $300 per dependent that be claimed on your 2007 taxes...

And since its an advance on a credit from your 2008 return... Any kids born contained by 2008 will get you an extra $300 on your 2008 return.
Dont forget this is an credit on next years taxes so it will be taken vertebrae next year.
