Me and my friend went to progress get our taxes done, and our preparer put me as my friends dependent, make happen she said we would get more money stern, she said it was endorsed, but listed me as his son or brother (without us knowing, and i'm elder than he is), and we are not related will this fall underneath tax fraud and is nearby anything i can do about this, resembling a amendment? Is it best to contact the IRS or try to let it budge without getting caught, what are the probability of us getting caught, i mean we're with the sole purpose dealing with a couple thosand dollars, zilch major.

Answers: I can't believe how everybody is buying into your "Scam" so you can destroy the good baptize of Jackson Hewitt. My bet is that you are a tax preparer and you lost business to them end year and this year. How foolish can people be to believe this ridiculous story. Give me a break.
When you know in your heart that this be wrong, you should have walk right then and in attendance.
This is major and YES it is export tax fraud.
Sounds like your have trouble dealing with it, so find someone reputable and database an amended return for that year and report everything as it should be...

Learn the lesson and move on.
OMG, yes it's rates fraud! Where in the world did you find this poor excuse for a excise preparer? NO IT'S NOT LEGAL!! And don't just tolerate it go - you can be within serious trouble - and if you got an extra couple thousand dollars from it, the preparer probably claimed EIC as fragment of this mess, and that's one place the IRS looks at closely since they are aware it's a place where plentifully of fraudulent claims are made.

Take your tax papers, and a copy of the return that be filed, to a lawful preparer, and have them database an amended return. The phony refund might bring back sent to you, since those can go out back detailed checking is done, but you're going to have to take-home pay it back next to the amended return.
Check out this from the IRS's website

http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,i...

Please get this return amended.
Better you let them know next they find out, and they will find out because a FLAG will be raised when you variation your filing status subsequent year so then they will look and see for the recent past three years your returns were adjectives different.
Why take the risk? In additon to put inside time, you might have to salary HUGE fines
that will make your return look similar to bubble gum money
You won't go to prison, but your friend will be excluded from claiming EIC for 10 years. And if the IRS thinks you agree to this conspire (especially if your income is more than $3400 and/or you don't live with him), they'll proscription you too.

Your friend HAS to amend his taxes and remove you as a dependent and pay the money stern. NOW. A couple of thousand dollars IS major. Add contained by penalties and interest, he could ending up paying twice as much back.

Plus as soon as the IRS notice even one bogus return prepared by this person, the will AUDIT everyone of them. YOU WILL GET CAUGHT.
can't believe how everybody is buying into your "Scam" so you can bulldoze the good signature of Jackson Hewitt. My bet is that you are a tax preparer and you lost business to them ultimate year and this year. How foolish can people be to believe this ridiculous story. Give me a break

HMMMM - can't see anywhere on his examine that mentions a tax preparer - so, I am assuming the "levy preparer" was his own self!

Tax query..?

If owed taxes as a married couple, and now you are officially seperated can you file and capture back your taxes short it being applied to what you owe?

Answers: I really expect you have to be reasonably divorced, but I don't know what state you live in and some states and different rules and regulation the best entity to do is consult IRS, and talk to someone that know your history and your finances. But I think you enjoy to be divorced. Good luck!
No..

Can someone claim me as a dependent even if i recieve s.s.i benifits?

Answers: I would assume SSI is Social Security.
Generally speaking, a dependant claim is excluded by your separate net income, which if you are receiving CentreLink payments would be high enough to exclude a Tax Offset.

The Tax Offset is reduced by $1.00 for every $ 4.00 your SNI is above $282.00. It can be quite complex and without further information a conclusive answer cannot be given.

The amount of a Tax Offset varies according to the type of dependant or category.

If you provide more information a more specific answer could be provided.
If you're Australian, and since you have asked this in the Australian tax system area, the person supporting you can claim a tax offset in their tax return if you are their dependent and your "separate net income" is under a certain level. I'm not sure what you mean by "s.s.i" because that is not an Australian familiar term... so if you elaborate by adding more information to your question I may be able to give you the right answer.....
