Does anyone know how I can fix this? I made a mistake when e-filing my state return...?
I already submitted it, but I know I screwed up because it said I owed over $300. I have never owed, and I ponder it is because instead of entering the total amount of my rent paid for the year---I individual entered what I earnings per month. It's the only entry I can think of that I might own messed up. Does someone know how I can correct this? I used www.taxact.com, if that makes any difference. Thank you.Answers: You'll requirement to file an amended return on Form IT-40X, Part III deal with credits, and submit it contained by writing to the state. IRS cannot, will not help you near a state tax issue.
Website to download the correct form is:
http://www.in.gov/dor/taxforms/07pdfs/07...
Enter your innovative figures from your erroneous state import tax form on the left side column...your corrected info on the right side column and the difference in the center column.
Good luck
You may hold to file a corrected return. I devise the federal form is called 1040X -- your state should hold the same bearing to amend (but it's probably on paper, and that will rescheduling your refund).
Second, check with your on-line provider -- since you made a mistake, they shoudl know how to tell you your subsequent step. Expect them to give you flack because you did not check your return thoroughly, but oh capably, people spawn mistakes.
I be powerless to work contained by 2007, get divorced and ex-husband get to claim kids...HELP!?
My third husband and I divorced in 2007, I be unable to work, and the find says my first ex-husband get to claim the three children he never sees on HIS taxes!! I be told to go ahead and record taxes even though I didn't work, just to hold it on file...and hopefully I would return with the "refund" in May. Although I know, the kids' father will more than probable receive that money...I need some direction on what my options are...
ALL suggestion is greatly appreciated!!
Answers: If your income was $0 there's no necessitate to file. You are not eligible for any rebate payoff with $0 income. The parent claiming the children on their 2007 charge return will get any rebate base upon the children.
LMAO, you sound simply like my ex wife. Altough I go and get my kids every weekend and pay $1000/month, my ex is trying everything she can to prevent me from claiming my children that I supported adjectives year with child support since she did not enjoy a job. Get over it female, if you dont work and PAY income taxes, how can you get a reimbursement on something you never paid. GEEZ...WOMEN, what is wrong beside you people.
Bank said i'll receive a 1099? What is that? What do i do? Help!?
No clue about taxes. pls explain.Answers: The sandbank will send you a 1099-INT if you've earn interest and/or a 1099-DIV if you've earned dividends within the prior tax year. The income will hold to be reported on your Form 1040 when you file your income taxes. A copy of these documents run to the IRS so they'll be looking to see that you've properly reported the income you've earned.
Typically these forms are sent out by 31 Jan. If you've not gotten them nonetheless, I'd give the mound a call.
If your hill paid you $10 or more within interest they'll send you a Form 1099-INT or a substitute form. Many bank include the year's interest on the final statement of the year. That will suffice as a substitute Form 1099.
You must claim the interest that you received on your tax return.
