If I turned 23 contained by 2008 (2/6) can I directory my own taxes and receive my own export tax return?

I am 23 and I was a full time student within 2007. The only support I received from my parents be a $2,500 PLUS loan for school. My mom told me that her rates professional said she could claim me, but I feel that it is undue for her to claim me as I want my own tax return. Can I record my own taxes this year or must my mother claim me?

Thanks!

Answers: For her to be able to claim you as a dependent, she must be capable of show that you didn't provide more than 50% of your own support. So, for example, if you provided $5,000 of your own support, she must have provided at least possible $5,001 of your support. Support includes things like tuition, food, clothes, utilities, room rent, etc. If this can't be said, later she can't legally claim you as a dependent.

However, if you worked end year, and made income, you can still file your own taxes, even if she can claim you as a dependent. If she does claim you, adjectives you have to do is check the box on the return that say that someone else can claim you as a dependent. If she can't legally claim you, you are entitled to claim yourself and put 1 exemption on your levy return.

Good luck.
She can still claim you and you still file. My oldest son is within college and we do that. We claim him as a dependent and he then turns around and checks on his form that he is a dependent on someone else's return. He works though, portion time, and pays in taxes. So he get his own taxes back he rewarded in. If you have no earned income though, you claiming yourself or even file is fruitless.

Can i attain NC state toll wager on if i be a nonresident?

I was a nonresident of NC ending year from 8/1 until 12/31. I am a permanent resident of NY. I remunerated NC state tax as I held a assignment in NC. I plan to saturate out a NY State IT-201 form and a NC D-400 form. I figured that I will go and get a refund from NC for the rates that I paid nearby. Is this the general gist?

Answers: As a nonresident you should find a full refund of taxes remunerated.
It is the general rule for most states if you work contained by one state and maintain your residency contained by another. Check with NC import tax department for sure.
