My tax refund was directly deposited, will the extra 2008 refund be also?

Answers: According to the IRS:

Stimulus payments will be direct deposited for taxpayers selecting that option when filing their 2007 tax returns. Taxpayers who have already filed with direct deposit won't need to do anything else to receive the stimulus payment.
The IRS hopes to this time.

Usually they won't if there is much delay between the tax return and the next check as too many people close their accounts.

Tax supposition for tutoring off-site classes?

I teach developed ed for a community college. One of my teaching assignments contained by 2007 was at an off-site location, and required a 57-mile round trip twice a week. Is this deductible as "brief travel" on my taxes, or is it just considered "commuting"?

Answers: If you go from home to the other location and back, it is non-deductible commuting. If you gone from the regular campus to the different site (and/or vice versa) it is deductible travel.

The trip from home to one's first business location of the day is commuting, as is the trip home from the later business location of the day. Business driving save for those 2 trips is deductible.
