Taxes Questions and Answers

Am I stuck next to the agency where on earth I first prepared my taxes? Please Help!?

Last month I went to an independant toll preparation agency to file my taxes. My return be unable to be sent to the irs until Feb. 11 because of my college fees. I have them prepare the paperwork and signed paperwork, however, I never went fund to pay the payment for them preparing my taxes and no agreement was made for them to take off it out of my refund. I newly did my taxes online for free at turbotax through the irs website and submitted everything without have to pay any fees. I also get a better refund through turbo excise .Am I stuck or will everything be fine since I never paid for my first preparer or will I run into any problems. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answers: As long as you didn't sign anything asking for them to reduce by their fees from your refund you will be okay. How be you going to pay and how be you going to get your settlement? I seriously doubt turbotax found a deduction a remunerated preparer didn't find. Hope you did not mess up?

You could call the due preparer and let them know you are not coming vertebrae to make sure you didn't sign something obligate you to return. If you didn't sign anything asking to have the fees deduct from your refund they are not going to efile it short your payment
If you didn't payment them they would not send the return to the IRS. Did you walk out your W-2s and other documents with them? You requirement to pick them up because they are personal and private.

If you are doubtful about the care of your Turbo tax file then you can step to a H & R Block office that will do a "double check" of the work finished and submitted. If they capture errors they can amend your return.

If I file taxes beside my x-husband later year but this year I file single who will capture the check?

I went through a divorce it be final in november of 2006 but our taxes be filed together due to the certainty we were married the entire year. I enjoy 3 children only one that belongs to him and I am concerned that if they move about by last years taxes he will recieve the money when I enjoy lived on my own with adjectives three of my children for the past year and a partly. He is also remarried, so what will he get the 1200 for him and his wife and also hold his hand within the 1200 for me and him. I am just looking for straight answers and who I would requirement to contact to let them know I am divorced and my children live beside me...

Answers: Last years filing will not effect the rebate.

The affairs of state is going by what is claimed and filed for 2007 taxes, not prior years.

Unless he criminally claims kids that he cannot, you should not have an issue, but you involve to file a export tax return. And from what you stated it would appear that you will qualify for Head of Household, not just SIngle.

Good luck
Uh, if your divorce be final in November 2006 you be NOT married the entire year and were not properly allowed to file a cohesive return. So for 2006 you filed illegitimately.

But that said, the rebate amounts are based on 2007 taxes lone. If you claimed your kids on your 2007 return, you will get the rebate for them.
Since you are reasonably divorced you will file your own taxes in need your ex husband. You will probably file as skipper of household and claim all of your children. You should be capable of get Earned Income Credit if you join the criteria. If he is paying alimony then explicitly income for you but child support is not.

Your divorce decree should own spelled out the status of the one child that is his and yours. If it did not afterwards you may have a problem.

If he claims the child when he shouldn't consequently you will need to post in your return next to supporting evidence that you indeed had the diligence and expenses of that child. You need to clarify near your ex who is going to claim the child but you may have to struggle for it if he has already file and claimed that child.
If you were divorced surrounded by November of 2006 and filed a mutual return for 2006, you and your ex screwed up ROYALLY. Your marital status on Dec 31 determines your file status for the entire year, NOT how long you were married during the year!

Before you even start thinking in the region of the "rebate" (which will probably be eaten up by the cost of correcting this principal error anyway) you need to clear this up.

Unfortunately it's not as simple as file an amended return since a joint return cannot be amended to separate returns after the file deadline. You need to contact the IRS and arrange to cancelled the return that you filed illicitly and then wallet proper individual returns. You'll be hit with in arrears filing penalty if any tax is due on the replacement returns along next to penalties and interest for belatedly payment of levy. Hopefully you didn't claim the EIC. If you did this could get VERY expensive for both of you.

You really entail to get the "rebate" past its sell-by date of your radar screen entirely and focus on clearing up the mess you've made for yourselves. I'd strongly urge a consult near a local CPA or EA who specializes in unwinding excise screwups such as this.

Do I necessitate to database adjectives of my W-2 Forms?

Ok so I have an issue, I hold 4 W-2 Forms, because I had 4 job this year.
1. 5879.15
2. 500.00
3.10911.94
4. 3060.40

I was wondering If I enjoy to file respectively, or if i just own to file the first and 3rd one, because I will bring a larger return if I file for one and only those, I've read about some rules that if below 3,400 is made that you don't have to report, so I was wondering if i could walk off those portions out.

Answers: You are required by law to claim ALL income from ALL sources.

So, yes, you enjoy to add up adjectives 4 w-2s to arrive at your income.

The $3400 you referred to is only if your TOTAL income is smaller number than $3400. Not by your picking and chosing what income to claim. That would be fraud and could open you up to huge penalty and interest.
Ummm ... yes. Report all income. It's the right piece to do.
