Can i still procure a discount?

My mom wants to folder me on her taxes and i just not long got a W2 form and i be wondering if i could still get money fund even if she filed me as slice of her taxes. I am a full time student as well.

Answers: You would record your taxes on a 1040ez form without claiming yourself because your mother is. You want to report because you will get your export tax withholdings back. Do not forget state taxes any.
If she provided over half your support, she, by canon, can claim you as her dependent. You have no choice contained by this. You, however, if you had sufficient income, inevitability to also to file, as single next to your W2, but check the box that indicates someone else is claiming you as a dependent (the IRS checks this, you don't want to run afoul of them). The amount of money you get rear legs will depend on many factor, just follow the instructions on the income export tax form and do the calculations. It should with the sole purpose take a few minutes.

Help! Big toll problem!?

I'm 25 and I started trading stocks last year (2007) to procure a feel of mortal in the stock marketplace. I put in something like $3200 into a Scottrade.com brokerage account and started to buy and market lots of stocks with that $3200 within 2007 (and lost a little over partially of that money). Now my form 1044-B came surrounded by the mail from Scottrade and it merely show the accumulated amount that I sold surrounded by stocks. For example, if bought stock A with the $3200 and trade it for the same price as I bought it, I get the $3200 back. If I next bought stock B with the $3200 and sold it at duplicate price again, I got the $3200 pay for. The total amount that I got hindmost would be $6400, even though I didn't make any money and would still enjoy $3200 in my brokerage explanation. Well, the accumulated amount that I sold surrounded by stocks was something like $34,000 (using the $3200 in my account) and that be what my form 1099-B from Scottrade showed. When I put that information into TurboTax, the tax that I owe shot up to going on for $8000!

Answers: The 1099-B only shows the total good point of the stocks that you sold. It does not give the price at which you purchased those stocks. So Turbotax is assuming that you compensated zero dollars for adjectives the stocks you sold and that's why it thinks that you made the $34,000 you mentioned. What you inevitability to do is go surrounded by an provide the prices for the stocks at which you bought them. So if you sold a share of the stock at $30, Turbotax would assume that you made $30 unless you go surrounded by and tell it that you bought the stock at, read aloud, $24. Then you would have made $6 a bit than $30. You should ten see the tax you owe progress down. Yes, there should be a factor later within your tax return where on earth you can indicate how much money you did make (or lose).
I'm a lover of turbotax.com but...given your situation I STRONGLY suggest you visit a CPA instead.

After searching runeye.com for days- I enjoy found out info regarding the Bush rebate checks-
1. If you are subject to pay for student loan, child support etc.. YOU WILL NOT GET THE CHECK- IT WILL BE TAKEN JUST LIKE A REGULAR TAX REFUND
2. If you were claimed as a dependant- you will not seize a check.
3. If you asked for your refund to be direct deposited, your rebate will also be direct deposited.
4. The IRS will be sending you 2 post, one that explains how much you will get and one that you entail to keep to wallet your 2008 taxes.
Hope this helped some of you!
