Taxes Questions and Answers

Why don't I go and get a tariff reimbursement? I reckon I messed up and checked a wrong box or something when I started working

I made under $4500 surrounded by 2007 and have a child so I thought I would draw from money back. But I used turbo toll and it said my refund be $0. What did I do wrong? How did this happen?

Answers: You should procure money back, especially if you hold a child. You should get adjectives the taxes you paid contained by back, plus a child due credit. Try handr block . com. They have a rates calculator. Just type in your info from your w2, similar to your filing status, if its newly you than file person in charge of household, then type contained by your income and taxes, how many dependents and anything else you may enjoy and it will tell you how much your return would be, its easy, sudden and free. If i knew how much your taxes taken out be and how old your child is i would do it for you and share you what it said, good luck

idk what u did wrong,
but if you hold a kid you get money
I don`t know ur not on eic anymore
Unfortunately, you didn't supply enough information to answer your quiz. Were taxes withheld from your paychecks? When you were using Turbo Tax, did you answer the question regarding Earned Income Credit? Did you catalogue your child as a dependent?

Can someone else claim you as a dependent? Are you the custodial parent of the child?

There are too many variables which affect the outcome, and you didn't grant any of them.
Was tax taken out of respectively paycheck for the $4500 you earned? ( If you did NOT retribution any taxes on what you earned, you cannot get hold of a refund because you never put any money into the fund for them to return to you.) What showed on the W2 form you received from your employer for Wages, Federal Tax Paid, State Tax Paid? Did you enter those data in correctly when you used Turbo Tax? Did you qualify for the Earned Income Credit (EIC) & enter that on Turbo Tax, too?

No one else but you know what you did wrong. Go back & do it again human being careful to read everything thoroughly so you work out it before you input any info. If that fails, budge to an H & R Block, or some other tax prep department & have someone look at what adjectives you have.

Good luck!
Without one flippant, what you did wrong was using Turbotax.

I own been preparing due returns for 18 years and there are greatly few statements in the import tax arena that I can say apply within every case. You enjoy just illustrate one of the few UNIVERSAL TRUTHS ABOUT TAX PREPARATION:

"Any incompetent person, whether a taxpayer using software or an ill-trained 'professional' who tries to prepare a rates return with children on it will give money behind".
Engage a competent tax pro NOT someone at a national manacle!! Whether they are competent is a crap shoot.

Look in the phone book underneath tax preparation for People near "EA" after their name. Enrolled Agent is your assurance that you are adjectives a pro whose primary expertise is in taxation, not Accounting which is a CPA's [primary nouns of expertise (Yes accounting and Tax law are NOT impossible to tell apart!). We earn the designation by examination or significant experience inside IRS and must take more export tax specific education every year han ANY other professional. Also, unless you live surrounded by CA or OR, unenrolled tax preparers are not supervised by any state or federal agency. EAs are subject to oversight by the Treasury Dept. Also, we tend to charge smaller number than CPA's and even many of the national chains.

I urge you to market your Turbo Tax to someone without kids and spend $100 or so to be sure your retrun is correct and that you obtain maximum value.

Good Luck!
You may or may not enjoy done something wrong. Are you claimed as a dependent on someone else's return? Did the child live with you for more than six months (or since birth, or up to the date of death)?

You'll hold to go through the software again..conceivably start over, or have someone else step through it with you.
Did you hold anything withheld? If not there's nothing to gain refunded.

Double check, though, re EIC. Are you file as married filing separately? If so you aren'd eligible for EIC.

How do I numeral out the total taxes to be taken out of a given gross?

In Colorado Springs, I am trying to figure out the percent that will be taken out of a given net, including Fed, state, s.s, Medicare, and FIT (don't know what that is). This does not include benefits or retirement plans.

Answers: Go here for some handy estimators: http://www.paycheckcity.com

FIT - Federal Income Tax
You need to cart into consideration your paycheck deductions to properly determine any import tax withholdings because some of these are taked pre-tax and not included in your gross wages when you report your tax returns.

To determine your excise withholdings based upon your W-4 filings, read IRS Publication 15 and the similar publication for Colorado. Social Security Taxes are withheld at 7.65% until you realize $102,000. After that, it is withheld at 1.45% of your gross wages.
The following sites give detailed information in relation to taxes payable for Colorado and Federal. the amount taken depends on many factor including income, marital status, dependents, vigour etc. FIT is Federal Income Tax. Retirement plan payments deducted from income aren't charged import tax and you should deduct the amount salaried before you add tax payable. to be out of danger make sure you check near the IRS about any deduction you are unsure about.
