If you claim eic will you still receive the tax relief?

Answers: It depends how much you earned.
Individuals who pay income taxes would get up to $600, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. Workers who make at least $3,000 but don’t pay taxes would get $300 rebates.

The first rebate payments could begin going out in May, and most people could have them by July, though the IRS will already be overwhelmed processing 2007 tax returns.

The rebate is not taxable at the federal level, and it's unlikely the states would tax it, though that's not entirely clear at this point.
It's up in the air. If you are getting EIC, there's a good chance you don't actually pay any income tax.

This is supposed to be an advance on your 2008 refund. If you aren't paying, you really don't deserve anything, but they are talking about $300 if you make at least $3000 even if you don't pay.
No way to tell yet, since nothing has been finalized. But under the version currently being discussed, if you had income of at least $3000 for the year, you'd get something from the rebate.

Stamp Duty and registration payment?

can i claim tax nouns for the amount that i pay as registration excise and stamp duty for registering a house/property that i bought using a housing loan amount ? or i can claim only the amount that i settle up as interest on housing loan and amount paid towards the principal ?

Kindly clarify

Answers: The registration Stamp Duty can be claimed as assumption u/s 80c for the house you have purchased. (Maximum conjecture allowed under this subdivision is Rs.1 lakh including other deductions within this section 80c). It should be claimed as conjecture in equal financial year of registration.

You can also claim the interest on the loans taken for the purchase of house up to 1.5 lakhs per financial year. This claim comes under the guide "Income from House property"

The principal amount repaid to the housing loan provider (Bank or Housing loan institution only and not salaried to private parties) can be claimed u/s 80C.

Both the registration charges & repayment of loan amount falls u/s 80C. The total of all the investments comes beneath this sectiion can be any amount but for the purpose of Income tax exemption, it is solely allowed up to 1 lakh per financial year.
