Can I claim the HOPE charge credit if my mom claimed it for two years already when I be a dependent?
I was working on a amount for two years when my mom was claiming me and she used the HOPE credit but I changed my chief so I'm starting over again at a different college and now I'm claiming myself. Can I use the HOPE credit?Answers: No. It can ONLY be used for the first 2 years of post-secondary coaching. Once you start your 3rd year, it's used up regardless of who claimed it previously or what school you be attending. Changing schools or your most important doesn't make it available to you again.
Your option now are the Lifetime Learning Credit or the tuition supposition.

Answers: Any time you want, as long as you own all your information (T-4s etc). Paper (non-efile) refunds are recurrently not processed before the ruin of Feb, though.
