Can two people living in same house both claim head of household on separate returns?
Answers: no only one
It's possible if the house is a duplex, with multiple separate living quarters.
Otherwise, since one of the rules for claiming head of household is that the person pays MORE than half of the cost of maintaining the household, no - it's impossible for two people to each pay MORE than half of the cost for the same household.
No, there can only be one HoH per home. The requirement to claim HoH is paying more than half of the cost of maintaining the home. Only ONE person can pay more than half, so only ONE may file as HoH.
We file on Febr. 11, when do you devise we'll see our direct deposit?
We were delayed filers due to claiming the HOPE background credit. The IRS has rec'd our file and it is being processed. We be told by the preparer refund would be rec'd on Febr. 22, but I grasp thru other people on this site that direct deposits are man rec'd this year on Wednesdays and Fridays, whereas in times past it was other Fridays. So what's your guess?Answers: I did my dads and he got his return spinal column on a Wed. I remember it used to be Friday. More than likely you will win your return on Feb 20. Good luck.

If I am getting a charge return from 2007 toll, will I still bring the tariff rebate check?
I filed my 2007 taxes and am recieving a excise refund. Will we recieve the levy rebate? There is myself, my hubby and 5 kids. We made around $24,000 last year. Do we qualify for the rebate check? And how much will we be getting if we do qualify?Answers: Yes, you qualify. Depending on the age of the kids, you'll find $2100.
Assuming you paid smaller number than $600 in 2007 Federal Income Tax, you will receive $600 for the two of you and $1500 for the five kids if they are beneath the age of 17.
BUT BE CAREFUL SPENDING THE MONEY.
While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, contained by 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.
It's close to a one time tax cut for 2008, but you bring back the rebate now instead of waiting to directory your 2008 taxes. Because this is an advance costs on your 2008 taxes, your refund subsequent year could be more (or less!) depending on your 2008 income.
yes
i have a sneaking suspicion that it's 300 for you 300 for your hubby and 200 per child.
or maybe it's up to 1200 for couples and 200 per child.
5 Kids? and merely made $24,000 in a year? how did you nurture them?
1200+$300/kid. so $2500.
it is my believe this tax system we live beneath is busted. People who do not pay contained by should not receive a refund OR a rebate. Probably a perfect thing for various people I enjoy no interest in public organization. believe me, I'd dry up the sucking off the system very well.
$1,200 for couples from the Internal Revenue Service, with an auxiliary $300 per child. People earning at lowest $3,000 and those who owe little or no taxes would get $300 for singles, $600 for couples. Those making more than $75,000 and couples near income exceeding $150,000 are to get smaller rebate — $50 less per $1,000 they product over those thresholds.
