Taxes Questions and Answers

What species of duty rebate, if any, will I take near the untried Economic Stimulus Package?

I am 21 years old and I live at home while I am finishing college at Florida Gulf Coast University this semester. My mother claims me as a dependent, but later year (as well as the previous two years) I received a check within my name from the IRS for roughly speaking $320 as a refund. I worked adjectives of last year and earn about $15,000 and payed taxes on that. Will I be getting the $600 rebate or will my mother bring the $300 rebate since I am her son? Or will neither of us get anything?

Answers: If you be a full time student in 2007 (it doesn't thing that you're still in institution in 2008) and your mother claims you as a dependent, she will be eligible for the extra $300 rebate for you as a dependent child.

For your rebate, it depends on how much taxable income you had surrounded by 2007. Since you had sufficient income to pay cheque Federal Income Tax, you may be eligible for a rebate.

Details are sketchy in the current toll rebate plan for people who can be claimed as a dependent. Only a broad plan have been proposed so far. Details resembling this one will be determined as the plan works its way through Congress.

Currently, it appears you would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you rewarded that much in Federal Income Tax. If you just paid $250 surrounded by taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get hold of back $250.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is if truth be told a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to nothing percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's like a one time import tax cut for 2008, but you get the rebate immediately instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes.

Because this is an finance payment on your 2008 taxes, your reimbursement next year could be more (or smaller amount!) depending on your 2008 income.

Nothing has passed Congress but, so all details are subject to make over. Check out the referenced sites below for more info.
Nothing is certain since the box is only PROPOSED at this point. It still have to pass both houses of Congress and be signed by Bush beforehand it would be final. Changes might be made to the proposal before it is passed, or, near how much the two political parties close to to fight and try to take home the other party look bleak, it's possible it will never pass at adjectives.

Based on the proposal as I've heard it, if it pass as proposed, I would guess that you would get the rebate. I devise when they refer to "child" they are probably talking more or less children under 18 (or I don`t know 17 like for the child excise credit). If that's true then your mother wouldn't go and get anything for you even though you're a dependent because you wouldn't meet the age contain.

Since you had earn income, I think you would procure a rebate, but I'm not sure it would be for $600. If you owed less than $600 surrounded by tax for 2007, they might with the sole purpose give you the amount you owed, though I deem I heard that here was a minimum of $300 for anyone that earn over $3000.

Again, this is all freshly speculation at this point. Until final legislation is passed, no one know for sure what it will be.

1/29 Update: After reading the technical details of the House bill ( http://www.house.gov/jct/x-5-08.pdf ), I dream up that your mother would not get anything because you are not lower than 17 and you would not get anything because you are a dependent. Of course, the Senate seem to want to change the bill, so who know what the final result (if any) will be.

If the culture are earn and paying their taxes who is the welfare receiver...?

Answers: the gov't obviously.. they live in them nice homes on capitol mount and have their chauffeured cars...
the actual receiver in your interview is the people who claim welfare money.

I believe the money is best spent here surrounded by the US because there are so various other gov mean to lend a hand other countries but the US is just hand over money to people it doesn't know that aren't recitation the truth or are on drugs.

I believe welfare recipients should be drug tested because my husband have to be tested for his 12 hr a day errand and earns every dime of it. So welfare relatives that just dangle out should he tested too...

Why does the U.S.A.call it's tax dollars federal government aid?

Answers: Here's how that works: In the US a taxpayer gives 80% of his wages each year to the Government for taxes. Then, every 5 years or so, they give back $300 to each taxpayer during a recession.
By telling us it is government aid they don't have to spend any money on vaseline.
