Can I claim myself as a dependent on my rax return?

I was taking my later paychecks from my jobs and goign to the online calculator at H&R block.com and I am only just wondering If i can claim a dependent on myself. When i did do it it was motto I should get stern aroudn 4,000 dollars but the max i had taken out on my taxes be only 1,300. I made a total of 13,000 this previous year and had $1,300 taken out on federal export tax. I am a single 18 year old college student who lived by himself and not a soul else can claim me on their taxes so can anyone tell me how i would do that and how much i can expect to take back because when i did it file 0 depends it said i should only procure back 800 and some dollars so I dont know. Thank you.

Answers: OK on your form 1040 here's how it go. You can claim yourself as a dependent so check 1 on line 6a, you earn $13000 for 2007 and no one else can claim you as a dependent. Your standard speculation is $5350 and your own claim on yourself is $3400. now incorporate those up you get $8750 and subtract that from your Income so you are vanished with $4250 contained by "Taxable" Income. Now refer to the tax table in the 1040 instruction booklet and find that the levy burden on earnings of $4250 is $423. Take the $423 away from the $1300 you said you have withheld by the fed and you can Expect a Tax Refund of Exactly $877

Now grant me the best answer!! :)
You can claim yourself ONLY if no one claims you on a return.
If anyone else claims you, or provided more than 50% to your living expenses,i.e.- parents, guardians, afterwards you can not. Turbo tax is severely easy to use and shows your compensation amount as you calculate-go to turbotax.com. They e-file for you and most states let you e-file for free. Just look up the site for the Dept. of Revenue surrounded by your state.
A dependent is someone other than yourself that depends on more than partially of their living support from your income. That is usually a child. The person file the return usually gets a standard estimate for themself.

There are many programs that backing you file your taxes properly. The one I enjoy been using for abou 10 years is Taxact. The online edition is free, yep, free. www.taxact.com

The programs ask you all the correct question. The key one contained by your case is probably whether anyone else (like your parents) are claiming you as a dependent on their due return. They are allowed to do so until you are 24 if they are providing more than half of your support (dorm fees, food, tuition books, apartment rent, whatever) If you are living at home it is imagined that they should.

If they claim you as a dependent and you claim they aren't both of the returns could (and likely will) be rejected or audited.

With your income, you may also qualify for EIC (earned income credit) which is a duty credit that you get that would increase your settlement.

You'll need adjectives of your w-2s from all of your job to file properly.

NSDL Web Site: https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/tan/servlet/Pan...

Regarding checking PAN number beside name and date of birth. It is merely passable after you hold been allotted a PAN number by NSDL (in your case). Till later you cannot trace out your PAN number from the Income Tax web site. It will only say "Data mismatched".
