I am a full-time college student but I worked part time for rather last year. I single made just over 2 thousand dollars. My husband carry disability and ssi.. does this mean I can claim him when I folder?

Answers: Claiming someone has the effect of reducing taxes owed through exemptions. Each exemption reduce the amount you are taxed on. Your husband is not a dependent, and you should database Married filing in concert. The effect is the same as if he be your dependent.
No you can not claim your husband.

TAXES ...and more taxes.?

My friend was deported and departed behind his four underaged kids.Am I competent to have them as dependents on my taxes? I am taking caution of them right now.

Answers: The rules are straightforward but complicated. In standard, consider these rules:

1. You and the children must have valid SS or ITIN numbers. You and the children must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. resident alien, U.S. national, or a resident of Canada or Mexico, for some member of the year. (the Canada or Mexico is important - ANY other country and it is no approach.)

2. You must have provided more than partially the cost for the children for the entire year.

3. No one else must be eligible to take claim the child as a "qualify relative." So even if the person who can claim the child doesn't put together the claim, you still can't take it.

There are lots of other little rules and exceptions, but if you can't overrun all the above test, don't bother looking up the other details.

If your tax preparer tell you to fudge it, remember they get rewarded to increase your refund, but it is the taxpayer who will find the bill for penalties and interest as belated as two years later. If you can appropriate the deductions officially - DO IT, but if not, muse how much money you will have to pay cheque back plus penalty if the IRS disallows it. Moreover, if the IRS suspects deliberate fraud on your division, the penalties are extraordinarily stiff. Don't just copy it.
If you are the legal guardian, afterwards yes. But if you try to declare the kids as Dependants and they are illegals, later they are likely to bring a trip outa the country as well.
