How do I directory my taxes if I'm contained by the process of a divorce?
We've been separated since August.. already own our temporary court instructions... now I'm waiting for my final court date to come around... Is this considered divorced? Or am I supposed to folder married but separate even though the divorce is pretty much done? Not to mention I haven't spoken with him contained by months and I have no theory of his tax information to include it surrounded by mine.Answers: You are still married so you either directory married filing reciprocated, married filing separate or lead of household if you qualify.
If you do not qualify for head of household and you own to file married file separately you will lose many credits and deduction. You cannot get EIC, child caution credit, etc.
At least database an extension form. This will clear you of failing to file penalty.
Who can claim my nieces when my sister is on SSI? they havent been claimed at all. They are 9 and 7.?
Answers: Whoever provides the most support for them normally. If they lived with your sister for the majority of the year and she used her SSI money to support them... then she claims them. If someone else is paying the support. It's a shame they haven't been claimed. There is a lot of money in credits being lost. They give you $1000 per child even if you didn't pay tax into the system.
Whoever pays more than 50% of their expenses (including food and housing).
My status hasn't changed on irs where's my repayment site or phone queue...?
My refund status say that I should receive my refund by Feb. 5th. So going by the irs cycle I am thinking this manner it should be direct deposited tomorrow - Feb 1. (its a friday) But it is now Thursday 8pm (1/31/08) and my direct deposit date still have not posted. It still says I should receive it by Feb. 5th.My ask is.
What is going on? Shouldn't it give me my direct deposit date by presently? I thought last year that it posted my direct deposit date a few days back?? Is anyone else having this evolve to them??

Answers: It depends they might not release your check till Feb 5th but the repayment should be in your justification tomorrow. The IRS mails out checks on Friday and usually releases them on Friday to the ridge.
the wheres my refund site and phone number are pretty much an estimate, the ending 2 years i had the money surrounded by my hand and partly spent before the site be updated to show my refund have been sent.some bank do not show the money in your vindication until after a certain time friday mornings, usually after 7:00am
So i would keep hold of an eye on your account friday if i be you
