The Business WILL NOT Release My W-2?

My husband worked for about 6 months of concluding year in his father's elderly business, which his mother inherited. In June, the business be seized due to delinquent payments and is now a different business, so the new owners do not enjoy the tax information (so we've be told. Question part one: is this true?)

When my husband call the company that tracked finances, he discovered that they HAVE the information regarding our taxes but REFUSE TO RELEASE the W-2 forms until we wage the debt of $1600 incurred by his Dad. We are both students and do not have this money, or any course of getting it between now and April. How can we, as team, get this information from them? I tried calling the IRS but they won't address any of this until after February 15th, so I'd really close to to get going on this beforehand.

What happen if we can't get this info?

Answers: It looks suspicious. In any armour, the company can be fined by the IRS for NOT releasing the W-2 by today. (There is a question of whether the "new" owners are responsible for the fine, or solely the "old" owners.)

I suggest that you bring it to the attention of the IRS on or about February 15 (as the company may own mailed the W-2 lacking tracking THAT information). Concurrently, you can prepare a form 4852, which you can file contained by place of the W-2 with your levy return, but (according to the instructions) not before April 15. (The IRS won't enjoy the information until June at the earliest, and may not have it to hand over to you until June 2009.) According to the 4852 instructions, the Social Security Administration should have the information by September 2008, which also doesn't comfort you, but, if the W-2 doesn't appear, you should recheck with Social Security to see what be reported to them.

I'm afraid you appear to already be doing all you can. Call the IRS rash in the morning of February 15.
Call the IRS and ask them to convey any W-2s associated to his SSN. They'll be able to do that.

What does an accountant do?

in detail please

Answers: Accountants and auditors keep hold of track of a company's money. The company's managers and folks outside the company read their reports. Managers look at the accountants' reports to see how well their companies are doing. Governments use the reports to let somebody know how much tax a company should foot. Some people read them to establish if they want to do business with the company. Others use them to settle on if they want to lend money to the company or not.

There are four kinds of accountants.

Public accountants work for public accounting companies. They do accounting, auditing, due, and consulting work. Some have their own businesses. They do heaps different kinds of accounting for relatives outside the company.
Management accountants keep track of the money spent and made by the companies for which they work.
Internal auditors cause sure that a company's accounting records are right. They check the history to see that no one surrounded by the company is stealing. They also check to see that no one contained by the company is wasting the company's money.
Government accountants and auditors make sure that senate accounting records are right. They also check the accounts of people doing business beside the government.

To be honest within reply to the above answer an accountants job can be impressively interesting there are tons sectors you can work contained by and also earn a very upright wage. I work in practice and am doing something diff every daytime I think any commission when you have to use your brain contained by diff ways is not boring. A boring job to me would be something braindead and repetitive eg. shop work or notes entry etc etc...Most days I am so busy the day a short time ago flies by now how plentiful people can vote that!!

Answers: 1099T is tuition. You must own paid for some schooling. This would be file for as a refund. It probably wont create a big difference. Go to the tax software you used to do your taxes and see if count makes a difference. If it does afterwards paper folder a 1040X
1098-T, that's the form for tuition paid, right?
I don't know that that small amount will own much of an effect. Mine for last year be over $1200 and it didn't change anything.
