Taxes Questions and Answers

Hi,can you help?ivebeen separated from my ex-wife for 7 yrs now,my tax code527L.i pay£103 csa money.can iclaim

Answers: Your tax code is correct, if you mean can you claim relief on csa payments, then the answer is NO. Relief for those payments cease in 2000.
Tax relief on child or spousal maintenance is only applicable if the taxpayer was born before 6 April 1935 so no relief i'm afraid.

The system isn't really on your side unfortunately - hopefully one day it will sort itself out! Ridiculous really as your payment is effectively saving the government from paying out benefits - it's passing that responsibility. The fact you still have to pay tax on that amount is just wrong in my opinion.

Do i NEED to database this w-2?

i made under 8,000 for the together year and im a dependent of my mom...i filed two w-2's already...one for 5k and the other for 2k..i a short time ago receuved a w-2 from a job that i forgot going on for that i only worked a week and made 150 dollars...do i necessitate to file this as economically or can i just confer on it alone

Answers: Yes, you do have to, because that add to your gross income for the year. You should wait until you receive adjectives of your W2 forms before file.
Yes, you need to include it on your duty return. ALL income must be shown on your return.

If you already filed your return and didn't include the income from the 3rd situation then you MUST database an amended return using Form 1040-X and pay any further tax due by April 15th.

In most cases where on earth you "forget" to include a W-2 on the original return the amended return will show a symmetry due. When you get your settlement from the original return, DO NOT SPEND IT! Use that money first to earnings the taxes due with the amended return. If anything is disappeared after that you can then spend it without risk.

If you "forget" to file the amended return the IRS will remember for you. In around 18 months or so they'll send you a CP2000 missive telling you that you messed up to include some income on your tax return and billing you for the taxes that are due, PLUS penalty and interest from the due date of the original return. That can put in 25% to 50% to the total debt so it is in your best interest to clear this up right presently.
Nope, you need to folder it, or next year, you'll own a letter from the IRS axiom you didn't claim it, this is how much you'll owe...and it will be at least 25% more than you would hold owed have you file it, plus interest and fees.

Trust me...this happened to me this year over a labour driver job my husband and I forgot to folder in 2006, and the W-2 never come...so we had no reminder.

Then, BOOM, you owe X amount of dollars, have to revise our 2006 tax return and still pinch a big hit out of this year's refund.

Also...if you did this and didn't claim it and be expecting a big refund subsequent year...once you get that missive, it holds off your return by at tiniest 2 to 4 weeks for them to process everything...so PLEASE...file it, bring it done.

My boss pays me by checks near duty money taken out that he keep, how do i report what he's doing?

I've been working for this company for 5 years and notice that he pays me with private checks instead of direct deposit at lowest 2x a month and he writes at the bottom the tax money he take out, im pretty sure he's keeping that tax money how do i report what he's doing? Can i cart him to court?

Answers: Okay, heres the deal. Your "pretty sure" after 5 years? You should be capable of tell by the amount of taxes withheld on your W'2- Take one of your check stubs & see how much federal rates is with held. Multiply by however oodles checks you get per year 52 if you are salaried weekly- that's the amount of tax he should enjoy with held. If it's close to that amount on W'2 afterwards you should be fine. If it's not anywhere close then he is ripping you off- unless he is not putting that income on your W'2 any then you are both ripping sour the I.R.S. Why it has taken 5 years for you to realize though really floors me. You could close up in trouble too. Why don't you purely ask him?
You can relax as long as you receive a W2 each year near the correct withholdings totals. Also be sure to check your social security history when it comes in to label sure your wages are being credited to your story.

If those numbers are right, he is reporting correctly. Employers must file quarterly payroll import tax returns which in turn must tie into the W2s issued. SSA and the IRS also contest W2 amounts reported to each agency to check for discrepencies.

As long as he reports, he will eventually repay. The IRS has collection procedures for that. In any event, you will receive the proper credit for withholdings even if he does not reimburse them timely.
have you ever gotten a w-2? or does he make a contribution you a 1099 at the end of the year or nil? If he gives you a w-2 and you enjoy never heard from the IRS more or less owing any taxes, then it sounds close to he's legit. Just because he doesn't offer direct deposit doesn't denote anything.

If you have not gotten a w-2 contained by 5 yrs - you should have complained to someone a long time ago, because you aren't getting any credits towards social collateral if he isn't paying the taxes and also I doubt he is paying into the unemployment system any, which mean if you draw from laid off you won't be capable of collect unemployment benefits
