Need assist beside duty give somebody the third degree?

one of my w2's say taht i am married beside five dependents, but i am not married and i only hold two dependents so can i still file or do i entail to get a clean w2 with the correct information on it

Answers: You can still wallet your taxes with that W2, a moment ago make sure you put the right number of dependents on your return and brand name sure your filing status is correct.

You entail to change your W4 at work and put the right number of exceptions and file status on there because what you put will determine how much taxes they cart out of your paychecks.
are you sure you are looking at a w2?

there is no place on an IRS w2 for that information.
I've never see a W-2 form that had wedded status or number of dependents on it. Are you sure you're not talking roughly speaking your W-4 form that you filled out beside your employer?

If that's the case, it doesn't issue what your W-4 says. That information won't metamorphosis the amount of tax that you owe, it lone changes the amount of money your employer withhold from you each settle up period. You can adjust the W-4 to breed your withholding amounts larger or smaller if you want to.

If you really are talking nearly your W-2, I don't know what the answer to your question is. Sorry.

As a levy professional, would you quality slighted if your significant other decline your duty abet?

My boyfriend and I have be dating for a little over 2 months in a minute. He is an accountant, and offered to prepare and file my taxes for me. I decline, saying that I don't mind preparing them myself since as a single entity with no children, they're pretty simple. He is an expert contained by his field, so I know for a reality that he would do them accurately, but I feel self-conscious letting someone I've been dating for such a moment have that nice of access to such sensitive information as my finances, social security number, etc... He took offense to me not letting him prepare my taxes and he seem angry about the situation. He later started questioning me going on for my finances, spending habits and asked me if I have anything to hide.

I realize this give somebody the third degree is probably geared more towards relationships, but I was of late wondering if any other tax professionals would grain slighted if your significant other declined your services?

Answers: He's person childish, to the extreme! And possibly controlling to boot!

You've been dating this role for 2 months and you are TOTALLY correct to not want to reveal the intimate details of your finances to him this early on. If he be TRULY a professional he would know this and NEVER would have acted contained by that manner.

IMHO, this type of behavior is a highest red flag. It would be a flat-out deal breaker for me, to be honest, and I would enjoy voted with my foot. Immediately. I did exactly that when dating a nurse last year who needed to get VERY involved contained by my healthcare decisions WAY to hasty.
as you may know, many couples (married or otherwise) break up because of finances. he may be showing signs that he may be of that giving.

me, i would not feel impossible at all. especially if we with the sole purpose have dated for two months.

he is lately wierd, i think.
Yes & No.

It's not romantic but anyone who is contemplating nuptials should check the credit of their potential mate. You want to go into a irreparable relationship with your eyes interested.

I had a client whose spouse have a small business. They filed collectively for several years. The tax return did not report adjectives of the income. The IRS did an audit & there be a huge tax liability that my client be suddenly responsible for since they filed collectively. So, even though they were divorced that prior tariff burden was assigned "as one & severally". My client was poor. The ex-spouse be poor. Then along comes a second marriage to a spouse near terrific earnings. When they file a joint excise return the IRS took their entire refund. There are some remedies, such as peitioning as an innocent spouse, but it would own been better know of the situation ahead of time.

Not giving your boyfriend access to your financial notes tells me that you are not surrounded by a serious relationship. If he feels differently, later he probably feels insecure in the order of how you feel something like him as a result of your hesitation.

I enjoy been married for several years and always offered to do the due return for my in-laws. They always decline and went to an Enrolled Agent or CPA who I held contained by respect. I was ok beside that. I learned adjectives about their finances when I did their estate export tax return.which was too behind to give them advocate. We were unbelievably close and they knew I would own done a good employment for them .they were simply private. Sometimes they did validate what they have been told by their advisor.

Can entities bar the establishment intercept your repayment?

I know state and federal government agencies can intercept refund for their own agency (taxation) or other government agencies, such as federal taxes intercepted for state child support, etc. But can refund be intercepted by say a mortgage co. or other creditor? My friend lost her house ultimate year and coincidentally so did her own cousin. Her cousin's federal refund be intercepted last week, according to him, by this mortgage co. or an agency operating on their behalf. My friend is presently scared this will also evolve to her. I did not know other agencies than the government could do this and consider she would have at tiniest been notify by mail of the possibility. She conspicuously has moved, since she lost her house, and is concerned that if they did attempt to notify her it be not forwarded. Any insight about this?

Answers: Your friends cousin is blowing hot nouns. I won't say that his reimbursement wasn't captured, but I will enunciate that it wasn't for his mortgage company.

Tax refunds are not capture for private and commercial debts. Only for government debts, put money on child support, and student loans in non-attendance.

What may have happen is that if he had a negative amount judgment against him that included a commandeering order on his dune account, the due refund would be objective game once it be deposited in to his picture. But that is not like as direct capture of a due refund by FMS.
I will strike a guess, your friends cousin owes your friend money and promised it to her out of her import tax refund? Ask your friend. Bostonian is right.

Now, for your friend, if she have been informed by a creditor that they may lien (take) money contained by her bank details, then her return could get taken that road.

Odds are low though.
