Taxes Questions and Answers

Are Tax Payers getting More Money this summer?

I watched the Union Adress and afterwards the next light of day I listened to a address radio show and now I'm confused. Are single charge payers getting a cut back/rebate what not check for like 600.00 this summer and next couples are getting like 1200 and afterwards 300 for each kid?

Answers: Under the expressions of the tentative agreement between the White House and Congressional Democrats, individual taxpayers would return with up to $600 in rebate, working couples $1,200 and those with children an extramural $300 per child under the agreement. Families who create at least $3,000 but don't discharge taxes would get $300 rebate.

Nothing has passed Congress on the other hand, so everything is subject to change.
I hear that on the news too. If congress pass it, which looks like they will, we will be getting this check contained by addition to your income export tax check. I sure hope we get it.

Can I claim babysitter paid in my income tax 2007 if I pay my mom?

Answers: Yes, you deduct what you paid and she adds that amount to her income for the year if she was babysitting while you worked. If she babysat for Friday night out on the town you do not deduct that.
Only if she is also claiming it on her taxes. If she is also claiming it then all you need to do it is her SS#.

Your mother can also write off portions of her bills as daycare expenses, so the fact that she is reporting the income really dosen't hurt her come tax time. She can write off portions of heat, food, toys & anything related to taking care of the child.
Yes, your Mom will need to show that income on a Schedule C.. she can also write off a portion of her home for daycare and certain expenses. You will report her SSN along with the amount you paid her.. and the two will match when the IRS received your tax returns.
By the way, you can claim ALL amounts you paid her for childcare.. it doesn't matter if it was Friday night, Sunday morning or any day or time of the week.
Best Wishes!
Depends, if you qualify for EIC, you will not get the child tax credit also, and I do believe that the child tax credit reads... if you had to pay someone so you could work... that leaves out the Friday night fun babysitting paid out.
Otherwise, yes, you use her SS# as her ID#, and she has to claim it on her taxes.
yes, if you didn't pay her "under the table". Did you take out employee and payroll taxes? If not, then you paid her illegally and you better not claim it. Otherwise you'll be looking at an audit.
