What can be done around the federal and state taxes leveed on each gallon of gas I pump into my two cars?

I found a chart that shows me that the federal export tax is 46.9 cents per gallon, and that my state charges 47.5 cents per gallon.

Can I claim these taxes?

Answers: No.suck it up like the rest of us...
not really.

within are exceptions that u might be able to use approaching if u use the fuel on a farm but not for every one.
Well it really depends on how you use your vehicle. If operating your vehicle for personal use (pleasure, commuting, leave, etc.), the gasoline consumed is treated as a personal expense and is not deductible. J.K. Lasser's, para 16.2, Ernst & Young, chapter 23. Same is true of taxes on tobacco products, alcoholic beverage, the gas guzzler tax...

If, however, you use your vehicle for business travel the federal and state fuel taxes are deductible as portion of your gasoline expenses (unless you elect to take the standard mileage rate).

Not the answer you be hoping for, but it's correct I'm afraid.

My status have still not updated for my direct deposit date.?

My refund status say that I should receive my refund by Feb. 5th. So going by the irs cycle I am thinking this routine it should be direct deposited tomorrow - Feb 1. (its a friday) But it is now Thursday morning 10am (1/31/08) and my direct deposit date still have not posted. It still says I should receive it by Feb. 5th.

My grill is.
What is going on? Shouldn't it give me my direct deposit date by immediately? I thought last year that it posted my direct deposit date a few days up to that time?? Is anyone else having this transpire to them??

Answers: February 5th -- plus or minus a couple of days.

Federal HOH Tax Prep Question.. Please Help.?

I am able to claim my fiancee as a dependent (along near out two children). Here is my question:

She file for and received unemployment contained by 2005. According to the unemployment dept she owes them a environment sum of money for overpayment on their part (It's approaching $1100)

By claiming her as a dependent on my FEDERAL return, will the IRS attach that return for any reason to reclaim the severance money, or is that at State level?

Any info would be intensely much appreciated!!

Answers: NO, they can not take your return to wage someone else's debt. Even if they are your dependent. However, once you are married if you file Jointly they can! :)
Have they file any levy or a lien against her? If so then you may wrap up of having that amount removed from your charge refund or at lowest possible a portion of it. I had a similar problem and I file jointly and they kept the intact refund toward stipend. The next year I file separately and gave my husband adjectives the deductions as I have a limited income. He get the whole compensation back as the levy be only against me.

I am not positive on this but even though it is state laying-off there is also a federal job loss involved within the bureaucracy somewhere. Also the state can spawn a claim as well on your state discount if your state has income taxes.

Good luck
