How much is the fine if i get hold of audited for due?

i'm trying to make statement near my son's mom and at the same time i want to play it safe and sound by finding out what the actual fine is.

Answers: In most small scale audits, no penalty are imposed, just interest. The negligence cost for intentional disregard of rules and regulations is 20% of the deficiency. If you are taking a position that you may be wrong on, you can disclose it on the return. In your shield something like "I am claiming the exemption for my son, Roscoe and because I believe I hold provided over half his support within 2007., His mother, Mary Exwife, SSN 123-45-6789 may also be claiming him." would disclose that there is a controversy and you hold established you position.
its better to avoid audit situation. if IRS detects fraud you can be penalized to any extent.

Exactly what point are you trying to construct, that you pay child support?

If you adjectives live together and file separately, the party with the ultimate AGI wins when claiming a dependent.

If you don't live together, the custodial parent win. The non-custodial parent CANNOT claim the child without a signed 8332 (or similar court document). Even near the 8332, the non-custodial parent only get the $3400 exemption and the child tax credit. HOH, child thinking and EIC stay with the custodial parent.

If you *think* you are the custodial parent, start counting the night and make sure until that time you file.
There's no fine for individual audited. But if your question is, if you are audited and something you claimed is disallowed, it can ebb and flow.

Claim Tuition Costs on Taxes?

My work paid for 2 of my graduate classes. I received the duty form in the correspondence from my college for the payment. Am i allowed to claim these tuition costs on my taxes even though my work rewarded for it?

Answers: No, that would be tax fraud. You didn't repay for the classes, so you don't get credit.
Absoulutely not! The charge break is only if YOU compensated it yourself. My huband is re-imbursed for 2/3 of his tuition thru his job. We claim single the 1/3 that we pay. You do not want to stir there believe me!
