Taxes Questions and Answers

Can I claim my daughter, who lives with me, she has earned 2600.00?

Answers: Don't know. Not enough information to say for sure.

How old is she?

Is she a full-time student for at least 5 months in 2007?

How long did she live with you in 2007?
On top of the questions the previous poster gave, here are a few more you'll need to work out before attempting to claim her.

1.) Is your daughter filing her own tax return, and if so did she list herself as a withholding allowance on her W-4?

2.) Did she list herself as "Exempt" on her W-4? If so, then yes, you can claim her, as she won't be filing a return to claim any Federal Income Tax.

3.) Is someone else her legal guardian? If so, then whether or not she resides with you may be moot, depending on the terms of the custodial arrangement.
you and your daughter might be better off filing your taxes jointly.

How did she file? If she already claimed herself and you try to claim her you must send in a paper return. The IRS will audit you both and decide who qualifies to take the deduction. If she is over 19 and not a full time student she is not a qualifying child.

To be your dependent (defined earlier), a person must be either your qualifying child (defined earlier) or your qualifying relative. Generally, a person is your qualifying relative if that person:

Lives with or is related to you,

Does not have $3,300 or more of gross (total) income,

Is supported (generally more than 50%) by you, and

Is neither your qualifying child nor the qualifying child of anyone else.
If you provided over half of her support for the year, yes you can, as a qualifying relative. If she claimed herself on her return, she will need to file an amended return dropping the claim.

Specifications of non compete clause? For Liberty Tax or H & R Block force.?

In my contract there be a part that said that after I set out the firm, I cannot work within 25 miles of that branch for 2 years. Does that scrounging apply to any tax firm or only any firm that's not a part of that franchise? Because there's this other rates preparer at my franchise branch and she also works at 3 other branches of the same franchise.

I am correct surrounded by thinking that I would have to work someone 25 miles away for 2 years right?

Answers: Non-compete funds you can't work for a competitor - you can stay within alike franchise in other locations.
Are you working for H&ripoff or Liberty? Don't ever sign a contract close to that. I'd start my own income tax preparation service.

Do your taxes online. If your return is complex, look up an enrol agent on the National Association of Enrolled Agents website. Click on "find an enrolled agent". Type surrounded by your city, town, State or zip. Enrolled agents are professional and own power of attorney with the IRS.
Block have to change their promotion. Firstly, the firm is not to print the SS# of the client on any of the Tax software they send out. Secondly, they are not to push "refund anticipation loans". Not lone were they never prerequisite, they are not ethical, the interest rate annualized -
especially when you add the fees and digit them in - is outrageous. In totting up, it is unwise to do what boiler room unscrupulous preparers do. Their motivation violate IRS ethics, block should not want to be associated near such unconscionable shenanagans. In the case of settlement anticipation loans, the motivation is NOT to help the client. The client is seldom informed that he/she may be turned down for the loan due to a governing body agency seizure or the IRS wanting to examine the return. That process you pay the ERO and guard fees in vain.

Wow! One article to watch out for: compensation anticipation loans {RALs}: Don't do it. What they do is USURY and should be illegal. These "bottle green loans" are just as unscrupulous as the unbroken life insurance companies. Instead of mortal remorseful and ceasing to attempt to bleed the public, they come out with complete life. What a ripoff!! Now, Block next to their refund anticipation loans, instead of cease such things, have come out beside the "emerald loans". They want to trap you contained by to having no choice but to return to them. That's alike as whole duration. I heard more prospective clients explain to me "I've put too much in to it. I can't acquire out". Same scenario. So don't go to Block. Here is a testimonial:
"If you get an emerald mortgage line done from them surrounded by December probably yes {you're trapped in to returning to that outfit}. If you can, do not move about to H&R Block this year. My sister got an credit done in December and she rewarded through the teeth this tax season. She salaried almost double what she did in 2006. Also, they are not issuing checks anymore, any. They are giving the early anticipation loans in a minute on a debit card. My advice for you is to turn to a local private tax preparer who will probably do the return for below $100. They can e-file the tax return and you won't own to pay the outrageous fees. So if you did own H&R Block do an advance surrounded by December you'll have to enjoy them finish the other part of the return for 2007. If you didn't afterwards you won't have to return near."
More on the sick joke of going to H& ripoff:
"In addendum, I'd try to use something like Turbo Tax. All HR Block are doing is running software and asking you the question. When my wife and I first bought our house we were rather apprehensive about doing the taxes, so we go to HR Block. What a mistake. The guy at HR Block was asking us the question that popped up on his computer. During this process we had a ask about an item. The guy at HR Block said he didn't know and he be only putting within what we told him to put in. This cost us $150! I done up not letting them submit the taxes electronically because I had to look up my put somebody through the mill. What a rip off! Turbo Tax costs something like $50 and does the same thing".
It sounds close to after you leave the firm nothing tax type of business at adjectives.

Answers: There aren't any websites where on earth you can get adjectives of your W-2's. Some employers product them available online, some don't. You'd have to find out from the employer whether they have them online, and if so, how to access them.

If you are still missing any by a week from very soon, call those employer and see if they can fax a copy to you, or give them your current address and ask them to convey another copy.
You should try contacting your employer.
