Full time college student within NY, worked adjectives year. Must I database NY State taxes?
I've heard multiple places that I don't hold to file state taxes as long as I am a student (as I would finish up owing). I just want to confirm this is true.Thanks!
Answers: I do not believe so. In most states you do not hold to file if you made underneath a certain amount, commonly $5,000-$6,000. Check the NY revenue dept website
It dependens on your income, i know with the IRS if your incom be less than 8,750 you do not own to file, if you put together more than that then you should record your taxes. But being a student you are entiled to the hope credit for your childhood expenses. It is up to1,800 credit for 2008
