I get a 1099 from a company that rewarded me 718$ USD and took no taxes out?

i got a 1099 from a company that compensated me 718$ USD and took no taxes out and i have no deduction or dependents or any other income to claim. I did an efile online to see what it would say i owed and it said 0 and i get back 0 so do i even enjoy to file this if to be exact the only income i am getting? seem like a misuse of time and money for me to file if i am not owing them anything or they owe me anything

Answers: No you don't enjoy to file if explicitly the only income you hold.
$718 from a 1099-Misc box 7 is at least $101 contained by SE Tax. If it is self-employment income, the filing requirement is $400.

If you enjoy other income, it's taxable as income too.

It is the law.
if u are dependant later this income might have to be reported by the personage who is claiming u as dependant...not sure with that...however if you solely earned 718 for entire year afterwards you you are getting the right figure (0)

If it's shown as non-employee compensation, yes you own to file it since it's over the $400 boundary. You won't owe income tax but you will owe self-employment levy on it. S ounds like I don`t know on your test efile you showed the income contained by the wrong place. It doesn't just step on the line where on earth W-2 income would go. It's considered self-employment.

I heard a co-worker of mine chitchat about a unknown rebate given to people who brand less than $75,000 and couples that trademark less than $150,000? Does anyone know how a personage qualifies for this rebate? And also do you own to ask your tax creature to figure this credit within or does it happen automatically?

Answers: "Who Gets What and When?
Everybody wishes to know when their 2008 tax rebate check from the IRS will be coming. Well, hold on within, big spender, here are the facts.
When Will the Checks be Mailed?
The tax rebate checks are newly one feature of the $150 billion, recession-fighting monetary stimulus bill proposed by President Bush and, since it's an election year, supported by both Republicans and Democrats within Congress.

While the House is expected to pass the guess early subsequent week, the Senate isn't expected begin its consideration until the lapse of the week, at the earliest, with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hoping for a final vote on the bill by Feb. 15. If adjectives goes powerfully, meaning the Senate doesn't propose too abundant amendments to the House bill, President Bush may be able to sign the bill by deferred February. The IRS can then originate figuring out who get what, and the checks can be printed and mailed. Since the IRS will already be busy processing 2007 export tax returns and refund checks, the rebate checks may not be mail out until late spring or precipitate summer.

Who Will Get Tax Rebated Checks?
Tax rebate checks will be sent only to those with Social Security numbers who compensated federal income tax within 2007. In general, if you earn income in 2007 and reimburse taxes on it, you will qualify for a rebate check.

The bill currently excludes retired citizens living mainly on Social Security unless they report at least possible $3,000 in earn income for 2007, or pay taxes on non-Social Security income. Some Senators own indicated they will try to change this, but President Bush is pressing Congress to leave behind the bill without count any additional spending.

How Much Will You Get?
As the bill stands very soon, individual taxpayers would get a checks for up to $600. Married couples would return with up to $1,200, plus $300 per dependent child. All of the rebate amounts would gradually be reduced for individuals near adjusted gross incomes over $75,000 and couples reporting over $150,000 contained by adjusted gross income.

Under the credit tax money rebate plan in 2001, outstanding debts owed to the affairs of state, such as back taxes, delinquent federal student loans or child support payments be deducted from the rebate checks. Do not be surprised if a similar estimate is applied to this round of rebate checks.

Remember, until both the House and Senate pass the monetary stimulus bill, and it is signed by President Bush, all of the details on the 2008 export tax rebate checks are subject to change".
Latest numbers look like 500 for an individual, 1000 for a couple. And dropping as they spread it out to those who didn't pay within.

There was also a credit for have a child - I think 200 or 300 respectively kid.

Remind democrats... You can not rebate money to someone who never paid it surrounded by the first place. Therefore the money given for kids is a credit (FREE MONEY) not money returned to these parents. They already got a charge deduction for them and presently they are getting a credit.

Only those who label more than the 75,000 a year I guess?
