Canadian investing within U.S. LLC, levy issues?
I am considering investing in a U.S. LLC to operate a hotel business. The mind and running of the LLC will be in Canada. My intelligence is the Canada-U.S. Tax Convention does not consider the U.S. LLC to be a "resident of a Contracting State."
Two questions
1) As a business, would the U.S. tariff me as a branch subject to branch taxes in the Internal Revenue Code?
2) My company would be a Canadian resident for import tax purposes since there is no tie breaker rule beneath the treaty to help me (as at hand is with C Corporations). My company would next pay charge on its worldwide income. Is a foreign tax credit available for the branch due I would have compensated? My understanding is that the LLC have to pay the excise. The LLC is disregarded though, and I would be paying the tax contained by U.S.
Answers: 1)u.s. would tax ur business
but whn its time to compensate tax ur business would include contained by it
2)yes
Son started work and is paying like mad of toll. Only 16.?
My son has salaried quite like mad emergency tax. He be not 16 till Xmas. Can he claim this backAnswers: Emergency duty code is 522L, with any a W1, M1 or X after it. To be able to answer more specifically, I stipulation to know more. Can you edit?
1) What code number is employer using?
2) Did employer ask your son to sign a form P46 to voice it is his only/main/first job?
3) What be the date son started job?
4) Is the work regular work, or just contained by student vacation time?
I assume your son is a student within full-time education, and works leisure.
Your son is allowed to earn lb5225 per annum in this excise year, which goes from 6th April - 5th April. If you are incompetent to edit, I can single suggest contacting tax bureau, staff will tell you what information is needed. Employer can let somebody know you address and reference, son will hold to quote National Insurance number.
if this is his first job since departing school, he should sign a form P46 which his employer will impart him. Once this is signed, the employer puts him on 522L cumulative and refunds the excise. If this is beyond the emplyer to deal near, ring HMRC and ask them to intervene.
On no account walk out it until the end of the tariff year or your son will be in a queue beside 100's of others wanting refunds.
He should approach is compensate staff at work - they may even tell him that he will be getting the import tax back impressively soon.
Has anyone have a doomed to failure exp next to H&R BLOCK?
LAST YEAR I WAS IN AND OUT WITH A CHECK, IN A COUPLE DAYS! THIS YEAR THIER BANK CHANGED ITS POLICY SO I PAID UP THE AZZ, ONLY TO FIND OUT I CANT GET MY CHECK ANY EARLIER THEN IF I FILED MYSELF! BEWARE! THEY DONT TELL YOU!Answers: Yes, I hated H&R Block, they made everyone sign within and wait for approaching 32918312098hrs then they charged too much. This year I did my own taxes online (turbotax.com) and it be only $60, not to mention I procure my return back surrounded by 2 weeks or less.
I deduce hrblock is ok. Used the for about five years but price preserve going up last year it cost me 350 to carry my taxes back within 8-14 days. This year using turbotax getting back within week or two and much cheaper.
