No, you will just requirement complete Schedule EIC and attach it to your tax return. Your niece and nephew are eligible to be claimed for EIC purposes, as long as they lived next to you for more than 1/2 of the year, they did not provide more than 1/2 of their own support, and that they are under age 19 or if between 19-24, full-time students.

I enrolled my high school Jr into kaplan's ACT preparation class ($600.00), can I deduct this expense?

Answers: I am not aware of any rule that says you can deduct this. Education expenses deductions are pretty much explained in IRS Publication 970, and all of the ones allowed there are for post-high school institutions only.
no.

Not deductible.

What chain should I put this on?

I took a disbursement from my 401K early 2007. It be $18,000 of after tax money and $2,000 pretax. Now I seize the 1099r. Box 1 of my W2 shows $20,000 box 2a shows $2,000 and box 5 $18,000. I know I'm supposed to put the $2000 on line 15b of my 1040, and $200 on chain 60. But what am I supposed to do with the $20,000 and $18,000?

Answers: If it's a 401k, the $20,000 go on line 16a, and the $2,000 go on 16b !
The $200 does go on row 60 !
the $18,000 doesn't go anywhere, it's the element that is not tax!
Line 15a &15b are for traditional IRAs !
