I own my W2 duty form from closing year (2007)..?

Can I still send it within and get money put money on.. or is it too late immediately?

Answers: If you filed at adjectives last year, adjectives you need to do is flood out the 1040X (for amended returns) and send a copy of the W-2 contained by.

If you did not file, capably, you end up paying a cost on the amount you owe at 5% per month (4.5 % for not filing and 0.5% for not paying). The total cost for failure to record and pay can eventually tag on up to 47.5% (22.5% late file, 25% late payment) of the due owed. Interest, compounded daily, is also charged on any unpaid rates from the due date of the return until the date of payment.

A minimum failure-to-file cost will also apply if you file your return more than 60 days delayed. The failure to database penalty is at least possible $100. Even here, however, if you owe no taxes, there is no cost.

Pretty much, you should hop to it and file. If you are eligible to draw from a return, you can still get it free and clear. If not, you might want to pay envelope before they sieze your property or something. Yes they do sieze property and auction it. Look on the website, its in that.
If you have a W-2 that you didn't report on the proper year's due return, file an amended return (form 1040x) to incorporate it in.

Do *not* assume that an extra W-2 is money back. You may in reality owe money to the IRS.

Am i eligible for bush's duty rebate and if so how much should i expect?

hi i live in nj and i would similar to to know if i am eligible for bush's tax rebate. I am a college student and roughly barmy 5,500 last year between adjectives my part time job i also live at home. If i am eligible can somebody please tell me how much i should expect?

Answers: If you are claimed as a dependent, your parents will be eligible for the new $300 rebate for you as a dependent child.

Under the current proposal, you also would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much contained by Federal Income Tax. If you only compensated $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you singular get put a bet on $350. If you had income of at lowest $3000, you will get the minimum rebate of $300.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is in actuality a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zilch percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's like a one time excise cut for 2008, but you get the rebate very soon instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes.

Because this is an finance payment on your 2008 taxes, your return next year could be more (or smaller amount!) depending on your 2008 income.

Nothing has passed Congress all the same, so all details are subject to coppers. Check out the referenced site below for more info.
It's not finalized, but a dependent probably wouldn't get it. (Your parents would receive $300 instead of you getting anything.)

The underpinning is a tax rate cut surrounded by 2008. When you file surrounded by 2008 and your income is high ample, you'd get the money afterwards. (If you were a dependent and made $5500 again, your return would be $5-15 more.)
We're not receiving anything however. It's not been signed into regulation yet and in that won't be any way to answer any question about it until it is.
