Taxes Questions and Answers

Can a 1099 contractor record and reimburse everything at the years extension?

I plan on switching jobs. I will move about to a job that will salary me as an independent contractor and give me a 1099 form at later end of the year. I am estimating that I will engender about $75,000 (depending on what goal I meet and how much I resolve to work).

Do I have to pay packet taxes and file quarterly returns throughout the year or can I only just do everything at the end of the year minus any penalties? My husband works and make a lot more than me, so I be think that if he claimed "0" exemptions throughout the year, we would probably break even on our state and federal taxes, so I would not own any penaties for taxes not being compensated. Could I also just income my social security and medicare sour of my net pay cheque at the end of the year in need any penalties? Thanks!

Answers: No, or you will be penalize for not filing quarterly estimates. Quarterly estimates inevitability to be filed if your in tune income is going to cause you to owe more than $1,000. Will you get $75,000 is this AFTER write offs? Regardless, you will need to do quarterlies. Self employment excise is still going to be due. It's best to file quarterly if you are a 1099 simply to be safe.. you can other get the discount back when you report yearly.. next just apply to your subsequent year's quarterly estimate. Best Wishes!
you will need to gross estimated payments including the 15.3% Social security taxes, so you better plan on putting roughly speaking 35-40% of your pay away for taxes - I don`t know more depending on your state income tax rate and local if you enjoy one - if you don't make est pmts on that amount of income - you plainly will get hit next to penalties and interest - hubby's claiming zilch will help, but it won't pay packet all your taxes - as a result your web pay will be closer to 45,000 than 60,000

I wouldn't devise about it until you call the bank and they explain to you it's available in your portrayal. They may deliver it to your bank on Friday but if it isn't posted by the dune it will not be available for you to use until it is.
it will be direct deposited on the Friday february 1st but then your wall might have processing time. Dont count on it for this weekend. Just be tolerant. You will have it by Monday.

What are the prices to get tax prepared by H& R Block and Jackson Hewitt?

Answers: Jackson Hewitt tax preparation fees are priced by the forms that their program generates. If you are single w/no dependants it should be around $100-$150-there are coupons out there too. If you have children, it is hard to estimate just because there are different credits available and they are based on income. Hope that helps...
They are ridiculously high. You can do it yourself on the irs.gov website if your income is $55,000 and under. It is free and you can also do free direct deposit and e-file. If you do it today and it is excepted by the irs by tomorrow then you can get your refund direct deposited by next friday.
It will walk you through step-by-step and check for errors.
